The Guilt Free Social Media Cleanse

14 Jan 2020

Something I always like to do when a new year rolls around is to make sure my online space is relevant to me. Whilst I've always been fairly strict on my social media in terms of who I follow, not opting to follow people just for the sake of it or because they've followed me, I do go through phases where I will follow a lot of accounts with certain themes. Unfortunately, algorithms often mean I rarely see the new accounts I follow, and following more accounts also means I see less of the accounts I did actively seek out, follow and enjoy the content of. So, with each new year, I like to have a social media cleanse - and this year, I'm going guilt-free, and I think you should too.

Money budgeting, planning and saving

12 Jan 2020

I've never been horrendous with money, but I couldn't help feeling a little bit daunted by reaching my 30's with absolutely no savings. The only thing that was slightly reassuring was knowing there are so many people my age, younger and older, who are in the same position. It's simply not as easy unless you are in a fortunate position, to have all the 'perfect life' boxes ticked.

An unapologetic 2020

4 Jan 2020

As 2019 was drawing to a close I started to ask people what their New Years Resolutions would be, as I wasn't sure I was going to make any for 2020. For as long as I can remember, I've made New Year's Resolutions, whether they've been written down and set in stone, shared publicly to shame myself into getting them done, or just ideas that have floated around my head. Yet I cannot recall one single year where each and every resolution was met. Am I approaching New Year Resolutions the wrong way?

“Yes, it’s terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.” – Giles, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
