Bedside Beauty Essentials

Ever since my teens, I have always had a little stash of beauty products by my bed. It started when my mum used to give me Avon hand creams and Olay moisturisers and all those funky lip balms you buy when you're in your early teens. I'd pop them on before I went to sleep and feel all grown up with my little stash of beauty products.

A review of essential beauty products for your bedside table

I'm now nearing 30 and my bedside beauty essentials have grown over the years, including a dedicated skincare regime and a few added extras that I just love to indulge in. Products that make me feel a little more pampered before bed,  products that actually help me get a good night's sleep and products which make sure my body is taken care of just as much as the rest of me.

I've been using Lanolips for years now, first sharing my thoughts back in 2012 with the Lanolips 8 hour challenge and the Lemonaid Lip Aid with organic lemon oil always comes out on top for me. I adore the beautifully refreshing lemon scent and whenever my lips need some nourishment, this is always my go-to; I know it will leave me with super soft lips every time. We also use the original version of Lanolips with Willow, which was especially handy over the winter months when her lips were quite dry and sore.

Another lemon themed favourite, a long time favourite I have repurchased for many years is the Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter. I blooming love this stuff! I pop it on my cuticles, hands and feet, morning and night, helping to keep my cuticles soft and healthy. I absolutely adore the lemon scent and it's also great for use on elbows, knees and the heels of your feet. A little goes a long way so one of these pots easily lasts me at least 6 months.

A hand cream has always been a bedside essential for me and I'm currently enjoying the Jurlique Lavender Hand Cream* which has been keeping my hands free from irritating dry patches. It has a non-greasy formula, so if like me you love reading a few chapters of a good book before bed, it won't leave any sticky fingers marks on the pages. It has a beautiful soft lavender scent, infused with almond and safflower seed oils to soothe and calm skin.

I have a few sleep aids which I use to help me drift off, particularly when my mind is running overtime and I'm struggling to unwind. I always have some form of sleep spray and I'm currently working through some This Works Sleep Plus + Pillow Sprays which I've had in Christmas gift sets and beauty boxes, which I spritz over my bed and pillows before getting into bed. Another one is the Feather & Down Sweet Dreams All Purpose Sleep Balm, which I apply to pulse points on my wrist. It's a lovely non-greasy balm and this tiny pot has lasted me months so far, I've barely made a dent in it! I appreciate these types of sleep aids don't always work for everyone, but for me, they are almost instantaneous!

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion is my favourite nighttime moisturiser and like the sleep aids I use, massively helps me wind down and relax for bed; I think this is one of the most effective products I've ever used for helping me feel more serene and ready for bed and I also find it works wonders for Willow when she's struggling with sleep whilst teething, too!

I always have my Jade Facial Roller by my bedside, which I've owned for years and years now but only really started consistency using over the past year or so. Jade rollers are really popular with skincare fans, they are said to boost circulation and reduce puffiness; think of it as a pampering work out for your face!

Last but not least and an essential for our bedroom, not just my bedside, is a room mist. I love making our bedroom feel like a more welcoming space to be in and I'm currently using the Temple Spa Spa Aromatic Mist for my Space, which I reviewed over Christmas in my huge Luxury Christmas Gifts with Temple Spa gift guide. It brings that calming scent of a spa into our bedroom and I just adore spritzing it around our room in the evening before I start to wind down.

I'd love to know what your bedside beauty essentials are if you use any of the products I've shared here or think there's a product I should have on my bedside. What are your must-have products for some bedside pampering?
