Toddler Book Haul

As a self-confessed bookworm, it makes me so happy that Willow adores reading. Every day we all read together, whether it's me and Willow, M and Willow or all three of us together, mama and daddy taking turns to read stories, books are a huge part of our day. I buy Willow new books all the time and mainly online, with my favourite for great offers being The Works, who offer do an online exclusive offer of 10 Books for £10.

As I like to be pretty prepared when it comes to Christmas, I'm already way ahead on the present buying and only have a couple of presents left to tick off of my list. Willow is receiving quite a large amount of books this Christmas, some that I've bought throughout the year to save for her and others I've bought through offers like the 10 for £10 offer at The Works, which is a no-brainer offer for me - plus there are over 200 books in the offer for you to pick from, so a really great selection. I managed to pick up a good few Christmas themed stories as well as books on things she's really interested in and a couple of miscellaneous picks that I think she'll like.

Most of the books I picked are paperbacks, but there's one board book I couldn't resist and that was Santa's Little Helpers. It has tabs for each page, a lovely little story about Santa and all his friends that help make Christmas. I'll be giving this one to Willow after Halloween, so we can read it together a lot before the run up to Christmas and hopefully it'll help her understand Christmas and Santa a little bit more.

I also picked up four other Christmas themed reads; The Sugar Plum Fairy's Wand, The Polar Bear Who Saved Christmas, We Three Kings and Santa's 12 Days of Christmas; this one will be going in her Christmas Eve box, as it's a story all about what Santa gets up to after he's delivered everyone's presents on Christmas Eve. I think it's a nice way to keep the festive spirit and excitement going, not just coming to an abrupt stop after Boxing Day!

Willow is mad about pirates, so I picked a couple of pirate-themed books - there were actually a good handful or so pirate-themed books in the offer, but I narrowed it down to Pirate Pete and his Parrot and Polly Parrot Picks a Pirate.

Willow loves saying 'Octopus' and it was actually one of the first animal names she picked up and could confidently identify whenever she saw one so I couldn't resist ordering Tickly Octopus. I couldn't resist the sparkly Alice the Amber Fairy book and I do so hope Willow likes fairies when she's older; I may be 29, but I do believe in fairies, I do, I do!

Last but not least and one I accidentally ordered twice, Little One's Bedtime. I'll be passing on the extra copy to one of Willow's friends for Christmas. It's a lovely little bedtime story, which is why I picked it, as we actually have only a couple of 'bedtime' themed stories for Willow and I think this will be a lovely read before bed.

The Works 10 Books for £10 offer, currently still on at www.theworks.co.uk, is a regular online offer - so it's worth signing up to the newsletter to be notified when it's next on, as well as finding out about their other offers. I think I may even end up doing another 10 for £10 order before Christmas if it pops up again, as it's just such a budget-friendly way to stock up on books and make simple but perfect Christmas gifts for little ones on your to-buy list too!
