As a self-confessed lipstick addict, you can imagine my excitement at the new Giorgio Armani Beauty Ecstasy Shine lipstick range, currently an exclusive to Selfridges and the official Giorgio Armani Beauty website. The range features 18 gorgeous shades and a stunning new finish that's sure to win the hearts of lipstick lovers, so if you like indulging in a new lipstick, this is a range you're going to want to try.

Providing perfect colour with a dazzling high-shine finish, the Ecstasy Shine formula uses a blend of liquid pigments and a trio of emollient oils with light reflecting properties, promising to deliver 8 hours wear that will be comfortable on the lip whilst providing lasting moisture with a sensuous cream texture. Presented in a sleek ergonomic bullet case, the casing is a vibrant Red 400, the most gorgeous warm toned red easily identifiable with Giorgio Armani, it has that satisfying 'click' I adore in lipsticks, with the iconic magnetic Giorgio Armani ellipse clasp.

The shades in the range cover everything from soft nudes and pinks to deeper, warm-toned nudes, reds and berry shades. There's more than a few shades which are going to be absolutely perfect for the colder months of autumn and winter, but overall I think the full shade range is wearable all year round covering everyday wear, work, events and special occasions with ease.

I've been lucky to try out a few shades from the range over the past couple of weeks and there are a few I am just absolutely smitten with, such as 101 Nuda, a warm-toned nude with the slightest touch of brick-red undertone, 200 Silenzio, a warm-toned brown, 602 Night Viper, which is just the most perfect deep plum shade and 504 Flirt, which is a really warm-toned pink with nude undertones. There's also the classic 400 Four Hundred, a gorgeous bold red with berry undertones and if you're into your more typical pink shades then you might just love 500 Crescendo, which is a light pink shade that looks perfect for Spring.

The consistency is beautiful to work with, easily applying an even layer of colour with good pigmentation. They feel balm-like when applying, very soft and non-drying, they're super comfortable to wear. I find the staying power is good, but I don't quite manage the promised 8 hours if eating and drinking, where I find I need to reapply; but the wear is still good for the formula and finish. They offer a more sheer finish, but if you prefer opaque lips then you can always team it with a lip liner for a more full coverage look.

At £29 each they're not the cheaper lipsticks around but with Giorgio Armani, you really are paying for the quality as well as the brand, so definitely worth popping on your Christmas wishlist or great for a payday splurge.
