It's no secret that Bobbi Brown is my favourite high-end beauty brand. I think the ethos of the brand is fantastic, championing natural beauty, the products have incredible formulas and for me, the base range is absolute perfection; Bobbi Brown is one of the few brands I can get an almost identical match to my skin tone.

I've shared my thoughts on quite a few Bobbi Brown bases, with my feature on The Bases: Bobbi Brown sharing quite a few from the range. I'm a huge fan of the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum range too and the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation is my absolute holy grail. Recently, I've been testing out the newest base to join the Bobbi Brown range, Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF35, a foundation that's managed to surprise and impress me.

A weightless soft-focus liquid foundation, the Skin Foundation Cushion Compact was created to deliver an instant glow with that flawless finish I've come to expect with Bobbi Brown bases. It's currently available in just 9 shades, although I hope we'll see the shade range expand to accommodate more complexions and skin tones.

The formula works in harmony with the packaging; using capsule technology and airtight packaging, the formula can be kept fresher for longer. The formula is packed with skin-boosting ingredients such as Pink Silk Tree Extract, which helps to calm and soothe skin, and Caffeine, which helps to rejuvenate and re-energize skin. It also boasts a moisture-infused anti-pollution barrier and a built-in SPF35, which is handy for those days you forget to apply your facial SPF.

So how exactly do you use the Cushion Compact? This is the first foundation of this type I have used, although over the years I've used 'pot' foundations before where you could easily use a foundation brush to apply; this is my first time using a compact foundation with an in-built sponge. It's super simple to use though, you can either use the sponge which comes with the compact or a foundation brush, press into the compact sponge to get your product and then apply as normal; if you're using the application sponge which comes with the compact, I find a patting motion is best for application.

I find the coverage to be more medium to light and the consistency of the foundation itself is quite fluid, so not as easy to build up as say the Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation, but on good skin days this makes my skin look incredible and it doesn't do too bad teamed with correctors and concealers when my skin is less-than-happy too.

Costing £36, it's not the most budget-friendly foundation, but when it comes to Bobbi Brown I'd happily pay the price (and even higher, if I'm honest) as Bobbi Brown really is the ultimate brand for me when it comes to flawless, natural looking bases. The finish is gorgeous, natural, but also makes my skin look healthier and radiant. Yet again I am smitten with a Bobbi Brown base, I really don't think any other brand will come close for me when it comes to bases.
