Birchbox UK July 2017 Review

17 Jul 2017

*Features press samples

Last month I was absolutely thrilled with the June Birchbox UK, loving the variety of brands and products and super excited to see one of my favourite brands, Bobbi Brown, featuring in the box. When the July box came through my door I instantly fell in love with the box design - super bright, fun summer vibes, it made me want to jet off to Miami! The box is gorgeous, but what about the contents, do they live up to the fantastic products featured inside the June box?

SAMPLE | Benefit Cosmetics Gogo Tint Lip & Cheek Stain RRP £25.50
This is the only product I was disappointed to see in the July box, as I am not a fan of Benefit Cosmetics; I'd gone off of their products a couple of years ago now, but their recent campaign encouraging girls to skip school/college/university classes in favour of applying makeup, was extremely damaging in a world where there is already so much pressure on women and young girls to look how society tells them they should - so this one went straight in the bin.

TRAVEL SIZE | Balance Me Flash Cleanse Micellar Water RRP £16
I was absolutely thrilled to see Balance Me featuring inside the July box, a brand I have been a big fan of for 5 years now and their skincare range, in particular, is one of my favourites for more budget to mid-price ranges. I am yet to try the Flash Cleanse Micellar Water so I'm really eager to see how this compares to my long-standing Micellar Water favourites. The bottle I received is 30ml, so a handy travel size for weekends or holidays away.

Formulated to easily remove makeup and grime without irritating skin, with a 99% natural formula. It uses soothing Chamomile, regenerating Neroli and Mandarin Oils and helps to cleanse skin, whilst leaving your skin with a healthy, happy glow. I have always gotten along really well with Balance Me products, so I am sure this won't disappoint!

TRAVEL SIZE | Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery RRP £20
Packed full of conditioning ingredients which work to hydrate, boost shine and fight frizz for dreamy strands, this overnight conditioning treatment promises to pamper your locks without transferring to your pillows through the night - which is great, as when I first saw it, that was my worry!

Other than when using coconut oil, I have never used an overnight hair mask, so I am excited to give this a try. The travel size I received is 30ml, so depending on how much hair you have, it's set to give you a good few uses; I reckon I'll manage to get 3 out of this one!

TRAVEL SIZE | Anatomicals Softening Eucalyptus Foot Cream RRP £5.99
Foot cream is an essential for me all year round, but especially in the summer where I am wearing sandals more often. The Anatomicals Softening Eucalyptus Foot Cream works to soothe and cool skin, with the added benefit of a deodorising scent. I'll definitely be giving this a try and the 30ml travel size should last for a good week's daily use.

SAMPLE | Origins RitualiTea Feeling Rosy Face Mask RRP £32
I am so excited to see Origins featured in the July box, one of my favourite go-to skincare brands and a brand you wouldn't normally see featured in a monthly beauty box. The RitualiTea Feeling Rosy Face Mask is a powder which you mix with water to create the mask itself, which uses Rose and Rooibos Tea to help hydrate dry skin. The 5g sachet is enough for one use and it's definitely a fun one to mix it together instead of having the mask ready to squeeze out of a tube!

BIRCHBOX EXCLUSIVE | English Laundry Oxford Bleu Femme Eau de Parfum RRP £55
The 6th and final product inside the July box is a perfume sample; this doesn't always go down well with subscribers, but personally, I think they're ideal for popping in your handbag for on-the-go. The only downside to this one for me is that it doesn't have a spray applicator, so it's one where you have to pull the (always impossibly hard to get off) lid off and I usually end up spilling those! A mix of zesty Lemon and Mint with Sandalwood and Vanilla, I have to admit, this smells incredible, I'm absolutely smitten with the scent.

Although I think it's disappointing there are no full sizes in the July box, half of the samples are very decent in size and the smaller samples will still give you a good couple of uses. I'm really excited to try the products inside this months box (of course, minus the Benefit sample) and I'm excited to see what will feature in the August box, as our summer draws to a close and Autumn won't be far away.

If you received the July box I'd love to know what your favourite product was - did you receive different products to me?
