Ohh Deer Papergang Subscription Review

23 Jun 2017

It's no secret I am a huge stationery fan, completely besotted with planners and diaries, loving everything from notebooks to stickers, so when I came across the Ohh Deer Papergang Subscription, I couldn't resist signing up and seeing what they had to offer! I subscribed back in mARCH, so I've had three boxes so far and I thought it'd be good to go through with you what each box included, whether I think it's worth subscribing to and of course, whether I plan to keep subscribed to Papergang myself.

So, what exactly is a Papergang Subscription Box? Created by unique and quirky stationery brand Ohh Deer, Papergang is a monthly subscription service, sending out boxes filled with bold stationery and other paper products such as greeting cards, notebooks, desk accessories and art prints. Every month the boxes are completely different; you will never receive a repeat box or product, which is something I dislike about beauty boxes, so I really love that Ohh Deer make this effort with their Papergang boxes. The products featured in the boxes are exclusive to the Papergang boxes; so they won't be available to buy in the Ohh Deer shop until they have been featured in the boxes. Most of the boxes do have the same contents, but on very popular months where the boxes are in high demand, there can be some slight changes between boxes.

The boxes cost £10.95 a month, with £2.95 post and packaging for UK subscribers; they also ship to Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Austria, Finland, Portugal, Singapore, Iceland, Belgium and Denmark. Shipping to these countries does differ, but overall shipping is no more than £5.95 depending on where in the world you are having your box shipped to.

So, let's have a look at what I've received in my boxes so far, shall we?

The March box was my very first Papergang box and I was so, so impressed. I really love that the outer packaging for Papergang boxes are decorated with beautiful designs and the March box itself was absolutely rammed with products, way more than I expected! The March box included a colour blocking pencil, a copper foil 'Thank You' card, a Papergang 'Hi I'm Drew' iron on patch, a Colour Blocking Sticky Notes Pad, a pocket notebook, a colour blocking 2 pack lined notebooks as well as calendars for April and May.

I think my favourite items from the March box are the colour blocking notebooks; one is lined and has 'WORK' on the front, whilst the other one is unlined and has 'PLAY' on the front, as well as the iron on patch which will go onto Willow's denim jacket, as well as the Thank You card; it's always good to have some cards in stock for those occasions where you need one quickly and don't have time to pop out and buy one!

For me, the March box was a great way to get me into the Papergang boxes and I was really happy with everything I received. So much so, I kept my subscription running to receive the April box - hoping for a box that was just as impressive!

When the April box arrived I was again, really happy with the contents. There's a decent amount of products inside the box and all with a gorgeous theme in collaboration with Arden Rose. A really fun summery kitsch theme, I love the floral and fruity theme going through all the products. The box included a calendar for JuneArden Rose Cute 'n' Clever Sticker PackArden Rose Lemon Agenda Planner, Ohh Deer Pencil, Arden Rose Thank You CardArden Rose Illustrated Icons Birthday Card and an Arden Rose Doodle List A5 Notepad.

As a planner obsessive, the lemon agenda planner was definitely my favourite in the April box and I really love the floral Thank You card. The notepad will certainly come in handy and you can never have too many stickers! Again, I was really happy with everything inside the box and decided to keep my subscription going for another month.

My first impressions of the May box when I opened it were not great, in fact I was disappointed and was ready to cancel my subscription. This is purely because I had become used to the previous boxes including a huge array of products - and the June box only has one real product inside. Inside the May box there was a calendar for July, an Amy Lesko Pencil, three Amy Lesko Postcards and an Amy Lesko A5 Felt Notebook. A lot less than the amount I'd received in previous months.

That said, when I sat down and properly looked through everything, I really quite liked it. As well as the products being designed by Amy Lesko, this month's box is in association with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, which I love because bees are so damn important and I love anything bee related! The felt notebook isn't something I'd personally buy, but I will be keeping it to one side for Willow to use when she's older (and yes, I'm hoping she loves stationery as much as me!) and the postcards are brightening up my office wall perfectly.

So, I decided to stay subscribed for another month and I'm awaiting the June box as we speak; although payment for the boxes is taken at the very beginning of the month, the box actually arrives at the end of each month - let me know if you'd like to see a review of my June box when it arrives!
