May Beauty Favourites 2017

30 May 2017

Something about springtime and the gentle ease into summer makes me so excited to use all my favourite products. I get more daring with my shade choices, I feel more confident with that bronze glow I love for this time of year and I reach for all my old favourite summer essentials, wishing it to come sooner. This month there have been splashes of bright colour, fresh light fragrances and a lot of love for a golden glow.

Soigne Pomegranate Nail Polish Review

Ever since our holiday back in April, I've been obsessed with doing my nails. This might seem like quite an ordinary thing to do, but as a full time working mama with a toddler, doing my nails is a real treat! On weeks where I'm feeling more subtle, I've been reaching for the Nails Inc. Harley Gardens Nail Polish (£15), which is a gorgeous warm nude. It's from the Nail Make Up range and has a formula which works to immediately harden nails whilst colour correcting and helping to repair damaging nails. I love the formula which glides on streak free and Harley Gardens is the most beautiful all-year-round shade. When I want something a bit brighter, a gorgeous splash of colour comes in the form of Soigne Pomegranate Nail Colour (£11), a gorgeous bright red that makes me smile every time I look at my nails! Soigne polishes are absolutely stunning with the most perfect formula, a really underrated brand for gorgeous nail colour.

I've also been pampering my hands, nails and cuticles a lot more, using my Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter (£6.95), which I featured earlier in the year in my Lush haul perfect for winter pampering. This is a long-time favourite of mine and a product I have used for many years; it's by far my favourite product for looking after my cuticles and I will never get over how addictive the scent is, it's delicious!

Whilst on our flight to Cyprus last month, I decided to treat myself to some Duty-Free treats, picking up the cult YSL Touche Eclat (£25.50). A product I've used before many years ago, I've wanted to repurchase it for years but as quite a pricey product, I never took the jump - until Duty-Free, that is! I have an olive Mediterranean complexion but actually use the lightest shade, to brighten and highlight. It's a cult product and rightly so, it's blooming lovely! A treat purchase and quite pricey too, but one I am glad to have back in my beauty stash.

I've rekindled my love for the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Brow Gel (£18.50) this month and I am just absolutely smitten with it. I featured it in my Everyday Essentials from Bobbi Brown post last year and I just love the way it lets me create a more natural look for my brows, staying in place from day to night with its long lasting formula.

Lips wise I've gone back to an old favourite of mine, MAC Costa Chic Lipstick (£16.50). You can check out a more detailed review in my MAC Lipsticks for Spring feature, a gorgeous bright coral with an Amplified finish.

Another product I've rekindled my love for is the cult classic Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (£14.50), a cleanser I've been a fan of for over 5 years now! There's just something about this cleanser that makes me feel happy when I use it. The incredibly relaxing botanical scent, the way it effortlessly cleanses my skin and the way it leaves my skin feeling softer and healthier, it's a fantastic product that deserves all the hype it gets!

I'm working my way through my second bottle of the Merumaya Gentle Exfoliating Toner (£17.50), loving it so much I had to order another as soon as I finished my first. I first featured this last year in my February Favourites 2016, now a firm favourite for me when it comes to gentle facial exfoliation. I tend to use it every other night, applying a generous amount to a cotton pad before applying to my face, neck and decolletage. Almost instantaneously my skin feels softer and smoother, and much clearer.
