Nude lips have been my go-to over the past two years, straying away from the bright and bold shades I used to opt for earlier in my 20's, adoring a simple nude lipstick that flatters my complexion and compliments my look. You can't go wrong with a nude really, can you? They go with any makeup look, any outfit, for any occasion, an essential in any makeup lovers beauty stash.

Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss Cosmic Review
Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick Heaven Review

When bareMinerals released their new Gen Nude collection, featuring sheer lipglosses and pigmented lipsticks in a huge array of beautiful nude shades, I knew I had to try it. For a brand who is held high in the beauty world, I had big expectations, and thankfully I haven't been left disappointed.

The Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick range features 15 stunning nude shades, each with a medium coverage and balm-like shine. The shades within the range feature a lovely variety of warm and cool tones, everything from your pale barely there nudes to the darker daring nudes becoming more popular; there is a shade to match any complexion. Formulated with natural oils and butters, they not only provide beautiful colour but moisturise and condition lips too, alongside a rather scrumptious vanilla scent. The shade I've been testing out is Heaven, a gorgeous nude with rosy undertones that's super flattering and has been my go-to over recent months when I want to wear a nude lip. It's subtle, with a lovely medium coverage that with a lip liner underneath can be built up for more intensity should you wish. Due to its creamy formula and a very light shine finish, I do have to reapply after eating and drinking, but otherwise, it's perfect for a day out or lunch date.

The Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss has impressed me, a lot, mainly because I'm not usually one for a lipgloss but the shade I've been using, Cosmic, is just beautiful. For a gloss it has quite a good coverage and could easily be worn alone, or teamed with your favouirte lipliner and/or lipstick for more impact. One application gives a nice even colour, it feels completely weightless and very comfortable to wear, with a lovely shine finish. Cosmic is a lovely rosy pink nude, a touch brighter than Heaven but the two work very, very well together as a duo. The formula is moisturising and doesn't leave my lips feeling sticky or thick with product like some glosses, great for both day-time and evening wear. Available in 10 shades, like the lipstick range there's a shade for most if not all complexions.

Both ranges are gluten-free and cruelty-free, which means none of the products nor ingredients within were tested on animals. The Gen Nude Radiant Lipsticks RRP for £18 whilst the Gen Nude Buttercream Lipglosses RRP at £17. The Gen Nude range also includes a line of Matte Liquid Lipcolours and Under Over Lip Liners, which I will definitely be adding to my wishlist.
