Male Grooming Made Easy

28 Feb 2017

*Features press samples

As a self-confessed beauty addict, I have tried on more than one occasion over the 5 years that I have been with my partner, to try and get him to have some sort of beauty regime. I've tried him with skincare, I've tried getting him to stray from his beloved Lynx and I've definitely asked him to let me do a face mask on him more than once before. Alas, he just isn't a beauty addict like me, but one area he is definitely upping his game with is beard care and grooming.

Willow's Personalised Children's Board Books

26 Feb 2017

*Features press samples

I absolutely adore finding anything with Willow's name on it, in fact, I've even started to build quite the collection of decorative 'W's in her room. Willow isn't an easy name to find on things you'd pick up for your little ones over the years, so I snap up any chance if I find something that can be personalised for her. As we adore books and reading together, I was really smitten with the look of the Bolster's Children's Board Books over on I Just Love It, which can be personalised and a great way to aid development as they make the experience of learning new things more exciting and personal to your little one.

Play Time with Infantino

24 Feb 2017

*Features press samples

If like me you have a little one who you have to keep entertained from morning to night, you will know how important it is to have sensory toys that they can investigate and explore. Although Willow has her fair share of soft toys, when it comes to other toys we pick up for her we always opt for something which is sensory; different textures, different colours, sound and music. Everything helps to aid your baby’s development and toys are something all the family can get stuck in with.

5 Things I Learned as a New Mum

17 Feb 2017

As a first time mother, I have found myself on an exciting journey that is speeding by faster than I ever expected. I spend my days entertaining my daughter, Willow, an active and inquisitive little girl whose confidence astounds me every single day. Long gone are my days of spending two hours applying my makeup in the morning or late night drinking with friends, swapped instead for trying to get a nappy on a wriggling baby that won’t stop trying to run away and wiping mucky faces after another messy dinnertime.

Becoming a mother is an amazing journey, but one which you can often feel like you are taking alone. Here are five things I think all new mothers should know, things I have learnt since becoming a mama and a few things I think we should all be reminded of every now and then.

I Don't Want To Be Body Positive

13 Feb 2017

Before I fell pregnant with Willow I had been a Weight Watchers member on and off for several years. Overall I had managed to lose over 4.5 stone and I truly believe it not only benefited my health but helped me to get pregnant as quickly as we did. When pregnant I knew that the myth of eating for two was exactly that, a myth, and it wasn't necessary to eat more than 200 additional calories in the third trimester; but of course, I ate more than that and often consumed much more than I was consciously registering. By the time I was two weeks overdue with Willow I weighed 6.5 stone more than my pre-pregnancy weight, a tremendous weight gain, the majority of which was completely unnecessary.

Of course, a lot of that weight gain was down to carrying a baby, the waters which were her home, my body preparing for breastfeeding and I had extreme swelling and Edema which meant I experienced a lot of water retention. However, I'm very clearly no longer pregnant and Willow is now a 1-year-old; yet I still weigh the same as I did when I was 2 weeks overdue with her.

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Trio Palette Review

10 Feb 2017

*Features press samples

I find myself going through stages when it comes to highlighter. Sometimes I love it and simply can't go out without a dash of highlight, other times I'm not too fussed and find it an unnecessary step for completing a look. The Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Trio Palette has changed that completely, introducing three beautiful new shades to my makeup stash and rekindling my love for highlighter; this is one palette you don't want to miss if you love a more illuminated look.

A Month of Digital Detox

1 Feb 2017

At the beginning of January, I shared my No Resolutions Approach to 2017 and a new project I had set for myself, whereby each month throughout 2017 I would strive to do something, that would ultimately have a positive effect on both my life and myself as a person. For January that was a month of self-care, where I made sure to spend a bit of time each day doing little acts of self-care, something I needed after a drastic festive season. This month, it's time for a month of digital detox.

“Yes, it’s terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.” – Giles, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
