New Dunelm Store for Nottingham

2 Jun 2016

There's few things I love more than shopping and when you team that when a one-stop-shop like Dunelm, you have a pretty happy Tattooed Tealady! I love shopping for homewares, always picking up new pieces to add a new look to our home, and Dunelm has been one of my favourite shopping destinations for many years now.

On June 1st I was invited along to check out the brand new Dunelm megastore, moving from the old location of Castle Retail Park to Queens Drive, with a huge two-floor location that is an amazing improvement from the previous smaller store.

We arrived early, getting there before 9am and queued up with a very excited crowd of eager shoppers ready to get inside. There was a definite buzz in the air, despite the gloomy skies, with the first 50 shoppers inside being greeted with a free gift as well as all shoppers on the day being given the chance to win a £500 gift card.

The Lord Mayor Elect, Cllr Mohammed Saghir and the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Captain David Clarke accompanied by Paws, the Panthers mascot, were there to cut the ribbon, officially opening the brand new store.

Excited Nottingham residents of all ages filled the store and it was hard not to get caught up in the atmosphere. A brand new store, the first customers inside, getting to shop not only the impressive Dunelm range which covers everything for the home and garden, but with a new cafe on site for customers to relax and enjoy a bite to eat.

Of course, I didn't just go along to see the opening and a good shop was definitely in order! There's a huge sale both in-store and online right now, which made shopping on the day even more irresistible. Browsing everything that Dunelm had to offer, I came home with something new for every room in our home; Willow was treated to cute cushions for her nursery, our sofa has had a makeover with new cushions, I picked up some new copper bits for the bedroom and bathroom and essentials for the kitchen. I even snapped up some little trinkets, tiny artificial cacti and crisp white grates, which will make perfect blogging 'props'. That's why I love Dunelm so much - you can find everything you need in one place!

The new store is seriously impressive. Bigger than I imagined, full to the brim of amazing products yet still plenty of room to move around. The cafe is spacious, super comfortable with a variety of chairs and sofas and the hot and cold food on offer makes a great break in-between browsing. If you're a new mama like me, there's also a fab baby changing room available which is incredibly helpful. The new store is definitely worth a visit if you're local to Nottingham!

Situated on Queens Drive, NG2 1AL, Nottingham.
