Gwen Stefani Brow Box

Brows have remained one of the biggest beauty focuses over recent years, yet very rarely do brands bring out new brow products. What's wonderful about brows is that we all like a different look and just like our own brows, more like sisters than twins, right?, you'll never see two girls with the same brow shape and style.

For me, brows are my one couldn't-go-outside-without when it comes to makeup. Even if I'm opting out of the blush, bronze and highlight, leaving the lipstick in my acrylic storage and avoiding the effort that eyeliner takes, I have to do my brows. Sometimes I apply the smallest amount of product, just to give them a fuller look, seeing as my brows are naturally extremely sparse. Other times I go the full hog, defining, shaping, filling, big bold brows that may look too much to others, but to me give me that confidence boost and make me feel happier in my look.

My favourite product type when it comes to ease of use is always brow powders. Give me a good brow brush and a decent powder and I can sort my brows in no time. If you add a decent wax into the mix then I'll be one very happy bunny.

The powders in question which I'm currently turning to come in the form of the rather beautiful Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Brow Box. A lovely little kit which features two brow powders, a brow wax, with some handy tools tucked underneath; two brow brushes and a mini pair of tweezers. The packaging is much like the palettes in the Gwen Stefani collection, but with a black finish which I think adds a nice twist.

Available in just the one shade, Bathwater Blonde, I wasn't sure if it would actually work with me, but it turns out the shades work very well for everything from a more subtle brow to the days where I want something with a bit more oomph. Admittedly I'm not keen on the brow wax, which has been formulated to set your brows, as I find it lacking somewhat - but maybe that's because I'm used to the gel/wax hybrid in my Benefit Browzings, which still holds title as my favourite brow kit.

The powders however, well they're just rather lovely. Described as a dark blonde and a light blonde, they've been created to work with both blonde and brunette tones and although I have naturally black hair and a very olive complexion, I find they work wonderfully for me. Not too light like I worried, but just the right side of taupe and with a lovely cool tone that means they work really well to fill in my sparse brows, add a bit more shape and definition and don't have that horrid red undertone that so many brow products seem to have nowadays.

Although not an essential buy by any means, it's a lovely addition to the Gwen Stefani collection and if you're on the lookout for a new brow kit, is definitely worth a look next time you're near an Urban Decay counter. Of course like all products in the collection, this beauty is limited edition, so if it has tickled your fancy then you better make sure to snap it up before it's too late!
