Bringing Memories to Life with Cheerz

Although the advances in technology and the countless apps and devices we have make our lives a heck of a lot easier, I will always have a little nostalgia for the simpler days when I was growing up. OK so the photos were never great quality and you took the risk of them being out of focus, but spending your pocket money on a disposable camera and getting all your pictures printed out was always so much fun. I used to love putting together little photo albums and taking photos of family, friends, trips away.

Even in the days of digital cameras and apps like Instagram where the majority of our moments are shared through small square snaps, I still like to get photos printed off, put in frames and albums, helping to keep memories alive when apps may disappear and those special moments could be lost. Even more so since Willow was born - I am constantly taking photos of her, never wanting to forget how small she used to be, especially when she's growing up so much faster than my heart can cope with.

I've been meaning to get our photographs of Willow printed out ever since she was born, but almost 3 months down the line I still have photo albums and frames waiting to be filled. So imagine my delight when I was contacted by Cheerz and asked if I would like to try out their photo printing and get a couple of snazzy bits together adorned with our snaps of Willow. They have a huge range of products covering everything from standard printed photos, to photo-books and huge boxes full to the brim with your snaps. They even put together prints in frames, which look more than a little bit tempting. You can order your snaps either by their website, which is how I personally did mine as most of our pictures are on my external hard-drive, or by downloading the free app which is available on both Android and iPhone.

The website was very easy to use. Once you've decided which product you want to go for, you simply upload your photos, edit, save and away you go. I decided to put together a Photo Album and a Big Fat Box.

The photo album was lovely to put together and comes in the most beautiful hardback design, all very high quality, with two cover options available. I opted for my final bump photo for the front cover, taken at 9 days overdue, then filled the book with all of Willow's first photos. The first photo we took of her when she was born, our first feed, her first photo with daddy, her first bath, mother's day, Easter, you get the drift! Another little addition to the photo album is being able to have her name printed along the spine, it even fit her long middle names with ease! It can hold up to 20 photos and honestly makes the most lovely keepsake. At £24 it's something I would definitely make again in the future, perhaps later in the year I'll do one of her as she has grown throughout the year, a 'Willow's 1st Year' kind of thing.

The big fat box can hold anywhere between 75 and 200 photos and starts at £25. What I didn't realise when creating mine is that the more photos you add, the more the big fat box costs. I was quite shocked when I had added the full 200 photos and got to the checkout to see that the cost would have been £46.88. Personally I think that is far too much, considering the only difference between the £25 initial cost and that higher price is more photos, which surely can't cost an extra £21.88 to print, it just seems like a lot and I think that the full price should be displayed on the product rather than giving customers an unexpected shock at checkout.

That said the box itself is lovely and our prints are just wonderful. The inside of the box which holds the photos did come torn, so I've had to repair that with some tape, but I love the design of the box which is bold and bright and the big gold BAM makes a lovely fun touch. You can have your photos printed in a variety of formats but we went for a 'white vintage' style, so if at a later date I want to write a little description on the photos I can; although you can also do this at point of order and have them printed with text below.

I do love the concept of Cheerz and I think their products stand out from other photo printing apps I've tried. The quality is exceptional compared to other brands I have tried in the past for products like this and I will definitely be purchasing one of their ready-framed products later in the year, as I think it would make the most perfect gift for Willow's Nana and Yiayia for birthdays or Christmas presents. I'm also tempted by one of the ready-framed products myself, to pop in our hallway, because you can never have too many photos, right?

If you'd like to try Cheerz yourself you can grab £4 off with your first order using my referral code 'TATTVP'. Product prices start at £6.50. You can check out the full range at or by downloading the app directly from your app store.
