The winter weather has taken it's toll on my skin and with a newborn, I've had less time than I'd like to keep on top of my skincare routine. My skin is definitely showing the effects of less love and over the past month I've made a conscious effort to get back into a proper routine, no matter how tired I am. It took a couple of weeks for the benefits of a regular routine to get my skin back into the happy and healthy condition I am used to and part of that is down to a use skin-nourishing toning mist that I am more than a little bit smitten with.
When checking out the new products to join the range, the Hydrating Milky Mist really stood out for me. I mostly rely on serums, oils and moisturisers to give my skin a hydration boost, loving overnight hydrating masks too, but over the past year I have spent more time adding hydrating toners to my routine to help give my skin that something-something it seems to lack after cleansing.
Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, which helps to maintain and improve moisture levels in our skin, Hydrating Milky Mist is a light-weight mist which I apply morning and night after cleansing. Helping to plump skin by increasing hydration levels, it also works to reduce redness and soothe any skin irritation and sensitivity, with a blend of Black Oat, Pro-Vitamin A and Linoleic Acid, which have refreshing and revitalising properties. It has a very subtle and light fresh scent, nothing too overpowering which is a definite plus in my books as it's one of the first products I apply after cleansing, when the last thing I want is something strong; a gentle wake-up call with a refreshing scent does the job nicely.
I've been using it consistently now for around 4 weeks, daily. Not only have I seen an improvement in the texture of my skin, which feels softer and oh so slightly plumper, but it has definitely benefited the overall look of my complexion which now has a slightly healthier glow to it.
Available in an 80ml bottle costing £18, it's not the cheapest hydrating toner on the market but it does have the most wonderful spritzer for application that means you only use how much you need, with very little product waste - if any! I find two spritzes is enough for my face, with one for my neck and one for my decolletage. I've barely dented mine, despite using up to twice daily for 4 weeks.
There are a lot of wonderful products in the Pixi skincare range which are getting a lot of love at the moment, but don't let the hype of other products overshadow this hidden gem. It's a stunning mist and one I'd recommend for all skin types and particularly for anyone looking to perk up skin after a harsh winter.
