It's no secret I am a big fan of the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick range, having shared my love for them a few times here on Tattooed Tealady. The latest finish to join the range is the matte range, and unlike the Revolution and Sheer Revolution Lipsticks, which have the same shades in differing formulas and finishes, the Matte Revolution Lipstick range features all new shades, from the perfect everyday nudes and pinks to the more sultry and dark vampy shades of purples and reds.

The Matte Revolution Lipstick range provides intense saturated colour with a creamy-matte finish. Presented in the same sleek packaging as the Revolution and Sheer Revolution lipsticks, the Matte range differs by being darker in design; a striking graphite that gives the newest range a vampy look. With a Pigment Infusion System, they provide intense colour pay-off with a long-lasting formula, but not only that; they have moisture boosting properties with Vitamin C and E, which provide extra hydration and a dose of antioxidants.

There's 9 shades in the new Matte range in total, with a shade to suit every taste and style. I've been trying out a few shades from the range and I have to admit, I'm pretty smitten with the formula and colour pay-off. Matte Temper is a deep, warm, brooding red that I can see becoming quite a favourite of mine in the colder months, as it's just perfect for evenings out with an soft eye and natural blush. Matte Bittersweet is easily one of the most perfect purples I have ever laid my eyes on and has quickly made it's way into my 'favourite lipsticks ever' pile. A lovely shade for any time of year but one I've been turning to over the past week or so as a lovely shade for transitioning from summer to autumn, I'm in love! Matte Menace is one of the most wearable fuchsia pinks I have come across in a long, long time. Vibrant with blue undertones, it manages to be vivid whilst keeping on the right side of stand-out without being too in your face.

The finish is just absolutely heavenly. The formula is creamy soft so glides on with ease to provide a lovely opaque finish, whilst the finish is the perfect matte; soft, flattering, it doesn't dry out throughout the day and it feels comfortable to wear from morning to night. The colour pay-off is good enough that a lip liner isn't an absolute must, but if you want to boost the longevity then I'd recommend opting for a liner with these beauties. I've found I only need to reapply after eating and drinking; otherwise they last beautifully. Not a fan of the matte look all day long? A quick swipe of gloss gives these shades a whole new dimension, whilst still keeping the colour intensity.

Another brilliant release from Urban Decay, available at www.urbandecay.co.uk, costing £15.50.
