The Lush Scent Addiction

It always amazes me when people say they don't like the smell of Lush shops. For me, there's few things as comforting when you're out shopping for the day and you step into a Lush store to be enveloped in the exciting, unusual and imaginative scents that come from all the gorgeous products Lush have to offer. There's a few scents over the years that I have fallen in love with, a discontinued product which has a scent I still lust after all the time (Tramp Shower Gel, how I miss you) and of course, scents in the yearly limited edition seasonal and holiday collections which always tickle my fancy.

One scent in particular stands out from the crowd for me though, and it's a scent which features in a few Lush products, a scent I have become completely and utterly addicted to. A scent that makes products smell so darn good, I could eat them.

It all started with Rose Jam Shower Gel, a product which is only available to buy individually at Christmas. For two years now this has been the product I look forward to the most when the Christmas collection is released, knowing just how addictive and beautiful the scent is. Rose Jam has a very sweet scent, almost exactly like a rose jam might smell, it's like Turkish Delight in a bottle. Created with organic Turkish Rose alongside sweet Fair Trade Vanilla Pod, nourishing Argan Oil, Goji Berry Juice and a touch of Sicilian Lemon, it has a lovely refreshing twist that stops it being too sickly sweet. Honestly, I just love it so much. The product that started the scent addiction, the product which I stock pile each Christmas.

For anyone else who looks out for Rose Jam each Christmas, it's worth noting I've recently found out it is actually available all year round. You can find Rose Jam Shower Gel tucked away in the Rosie Gift Set (£21.25) which includes a 100g Rose Jam Shower Gel, Rose Jam Bubbleroon, Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb, 45g Ro's Argan Body Conditioner and Amandopondo Bubble Bar. A rose themed gift set that'll give you your Rose Jam fix any time of year!

It was only by chance that I realised the same scent of Rose Jam is popular in a few Lush products, and that was after talking to the Derby Lush store over Twitter about how much I loved the scent. I now own almost all of the products which carry the same scent, and each one is a product I turn to when I want a really relaxing pamper that I know will leave me feeling super-content after.

A product that provides deliciously scented bubbles and a light pink touch to the water is Rose Jam Bubbleroon (£3.75). I love Lush Bubbleroon's because you can get at least 2 uses out of each and since they were reformulated and redesigned along with the new products which have been rolled out to stores nationwide - you can find out more about that here - I'm pretty sure they are actually a little bit bigger than they used to be, too. With Rose Absolute, Lemon, Rose and Geranium Oil alongside Coconut Oil and Shea Butter, it creates a scrumptious Rose Jam scent whilst working to leave skin feeling that little bit softer.

Whenever I manage to coax my partner into giving me a back massage (something I've needed even more since getting pregnant) there's one particular product which I always make him use, because it instantly relaxes and soothes me. Pearl Massage Bar (£6.50) is a super fun massage bar that uses antioxidant Argan Oil, soothing Rose Oil and Rose Absolute alongside Sago Bubbles with that same Rose Jam scent. Massaging is a great way to pamper skin whilst boosting circulation, and this is by far my favourite Lush massage bar! You can check out my thoughts on Lush Massage Bars and why I think they are a seriously underrated product here.

Last but not least and the most pricey of my Rose Jam scented products is Ro's Argan Body Conditioner (£16.50, 225g) which has become a bit of a cult Lush product over the years. If you love having incredibly soft and happy skin but don't like the fuss of applying lotions and potions after your shower, then the Body Conditioner range available at Lush is a great alternative for intense in-shower moisturisation. A luxurious lotion which you slather onto damp skin, leaving on for 5 minutes or so before rinsing off, your skin is guaranteed to be left heavenly soft and beautifully scented. It combines essential Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Brazil Nut and Almond Oils, Cocoa, Shea and Cupuacu Butters all with that addictive rosey scent which lingers well throughout the day. It's one of the more pricey products on offer from Lush but it lasts forever, and I use mine as an occasional treat opposed to an everyday product!
