Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara

Mascara. A product I go through more than any other, a product we're constantly reminded that we shouldn't use longer than 3 months. It can get quite expensive having to replace mascaras every 3 months, so I usually stick to high-street brands for making my lifeless lashes look thicker and longer.

Although I have a few high-end favourites when it comes to mascaras, such as the Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara as well as the Lancome Hypnose Mascara, forking out for high-end mascaras every few months just really isn't realistic. Every brand on the high-street has a whole range of different mascaras on offer, some will even have a couple of daring shades for you to brave, promising different effects and finishes at a fraction of the price of high-end brands.

Max Factor is probably the brand who I have turned to the most over the past couple of years when it comes to mascaras. They've come out with some fab releases with great formulas and perfect wands, and my latest dabble into their ever-expanding world of mascaras hasn't let me down.

The Max Factor False Lash Effect is an ultra volumising mascara which works to effortlessly create volume from the very base of your lashes through to the tip. Lengthening, separating and adding volume to lashes in a flash with a brush that has 50% more bristles than your standard mascara wand.

The brush is quite big compared to other mascaras in my stash, and I thought that might make getting the tiny little lashes and applying product to my lower lashes quite difficult, but actually with a steady hand even the smallest of hairs were easy to apply False Lash Effect to.

Due to a patented Liquid Lash formula, False Lash Effect manages to coat all lashes from root to tip without drying to a flaky or cakey formula. This is great because it means you can apply more than one layer to build up intensity, without ending up with those less than attractive spider lashes! Add to that the fact that it doesn't budge or smudge throughout the day, and manages to hold a curl pretty darn well from morning to night, and you have a winning mascara!

Available from www.boots.com, RRP £10.99.
