The Sunday Post #37

28 Jun 2015

This week has been a rollercoaster for me. It's been busy, it's had some very important appointments and meetings and it's been one which has completely changed my overall attitude as a person. Funny how life works sometimes isn't it?

Yesterday topped off a great week for me with a much-needed day in Nottingham, my home City and favourite City in the whole of England (I'll admit I have a weakness for Edinburgh, so I can't make that claim for the UK!). I always feel incredibly content when I am in Nottingham, good old Robin Hood County, and I think we are super lucky to have a lovely variety of shops compared to other Cities; the perfect mix of home, fashion and beauty with a gorgeous dash of unique, small boutiques and celebrations of handmade wonders.

Yesterday was one of those much needed shopping trips that I haven't had in a long time, and boy did I shop til I dropped! I also managed to check out the new KIKO store which has recently opened up in Victoria Center, so keep an eye out for a cheeky KIKO beauty haul coming your way very soon! I was more than ready to meet my partner late afternoon, for a dinner date at Jamie's Italian. Jamie's Italian is my favourite restaurant in Nottingham and pretty much the only place I have gone for meals in Nottingham for the past two years. I love taking friends there for the first time, I love how homely and cosy it feels, and I always leave feeling more than satisfied with our meal. Last night was no different - and I have a post coming up soon sharing what we had and our overall experience, as our first time enjoying the beautiful 'secret garden'!

The pace of blog posts has slowly started picking up again on Tattooed Tealady, but there was one post in particular this week which had a very important message - #GayIsOk | Lush Love Soap - a campaign which is extremely important and a topic truly close to my heart. If you haven't read it yet and have a couple of minutes free today, go give it a read and let me know what you think to differing laws around the world!

It's crazy to think that June is already almost over, with July just a few days away. July means the countdown to my birthday, I'll be 27 this year, which to me seems absolutely crazy as well as a little scary to be crawling closer and closer to the big 30! With July also comes what is the proper start of summer for me, as it's always July when I really feel like we've hit the sunshine jackpot here in the UK (if we're lucky!), so I'm hoping for a lot of sunshine, a lot of hot summer days and a lot of being lazy reading books in the sun (with a good dose of SPF, of course!).

How has this week treated you? Are you excited for July to come around?
