When you have fine hair, styling it how you'd like can be quite the challenge. I'm always wishing I had longer, thicker, fuller hair that I could style to look like some luxurious beauty with hair that'll leave others filled with envy. Realistically, it's me who has hair envy, every single day.

Over the years the general style of my hair has changed quite a lot. I've had one side shaved on and off since I was 20-ish, I've had it short, long, layered and at some points, incredibly choppy. When my hair was shorter, or had more defined chopping layers, styling it was a breeze, despite it being fine. Over the past couple of years the effort of maintaining layers and growing out of styles which suited me better in my 'younger years', means I had to stop using the products I used to rely on for shape, texture and style; waxes and balms, styling cream and super-hold mousses.

Nowadays I rely on a completely different product for styling my hair; fine mist sprays with powerful hold. Hairsprays, styling sprays, texturising sprays - you name them, I love them. In fact last year I shared a post on my favourite texturising sprays for fine hair. I just love the ease and simplicity of using a spray to create the look I want.

For those of you who have been lusting after the cult Oribe Texturising Spray but can't justify the £38 splurge, Bumble and Bumble Bb. Cityswept Finish is a great alternative - often hailed as the perfect dupe. Although still high-end, it's a much more affordable £21.50. My current go-to for adding texture both at the roots and throughout my mid-lengths to ends, it has a fine mist formulated with Wheat Proteins, Zeolite and Silk Powder, for a quick and professional styled finish.

Macadamia Natural Oil Control Hairspray combines the strong, flexible and long-lasting hold of a hairspray, with the nourishing and protecting Argan and Macadamia Oils akin to Macadamia Natural Oil products. Working to keep frizz at bay with a humidity resistant formula, it gives the perfect amount of hold without making hair crunchy or hard to the touch. A little more budget-friendly than Bumble and Bumble, this one costs just £14.92 for a huge 300ml can.

Last but not least and the product I turn to when I put a 'bit more effort' into my hair; straightening, curling with straighteners or even getting the curling irons out, is the Fudge Urban Iced Raspberry & Vanilla Hairspray*, the cheapest of all 3 at a very purse-friendly £3.32 for 290ml. First things first, this stuff smells so damn good! A light-weight hairspray that has fantastic hold, manages to tame frizz and little flyaway hairs all whilst keeping your style in place. Lovely!

What's your go-to product for texture and hold?
