I love cleansing. Every morning and every night, it's one of the things I look forward to the most. Taking a couple of minutes out of my day to pamper, massage and cleanse my skin, I love how refreshed and revived cleansing makes my skin feel. Formula wise balm cleansers are probably my favourite; there's something about balm cleansers which just leaves my skin looking and feeling so much happier and healthier, not forgetting softer to the touch. Whatever your budget, there's a balm cleanser for you - and these are my absolute top favourite four!

If you're really into your natural all-round-goodness when it comes to skincare, Lyonsleaf is a great brand to explore. A real skin-loving product, the Lyonsleaf Natural Beauty Balm works to moisturise, cleanse, exfoliate, nourish, repair and protect skin. Using a blend of 100% natural oils including Shea Butter, Babassu Oil, Macadamia Nut, Jojoba Oils alongside essential owns and Lyonsleaf very own homegrown Calendula, this beauty balm is absolutely beautiful.

It's free of artificial fragrance and colours, a waterless balm which ensures there's no antimicrobial preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, with no nasty artificial chemicals. It has a subtle scent, there's a definite hint of essential oils but nothing too strong for those who aren't keen on big scents. It has a light-weight texture that almost feels whipped to the touch, which instantly melts to a beautiful balm-oil hybrid once massaged into skin. A little goes a very long way, I use around a 20p sized amount for both my face and neck. It melts residue makeup, dirt and grime away with ease, leaving skin deeply cleansed and softer to the touch. It can leave a slight greasy residue feel to skin (especially if you overdo it and use too much), but rinsing away with a warm muslin cloth gets rid of any residue super easily. At just £12.95 for 55ml, this natural beauty is set to last you a very long time indeed. Full review here.

When it comes to skincare Antipodes is a brand that stands out from the crowd for me. Their products are beautifully designed with stunning scents and skin-loving formulas that give my skin benefits that few other brands can achieve. Every product I have tried from Antipodes has worked so heavenly with my skin, some of their products are even holy grails which have revolutionised the way I look at and approach skincare.

The Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser is a luxuriously thick balm cleanser that smells good enough to eat. With all natural ingredients, it utilises nourishing Cacao Butter with soothing natural oils and Vinanza Grape antioxidant from New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Grape seeds, Harekeke and Hibiscus Flower alongside Lavender and Blue Chamomile which both soothe even the most sensitive of skin types. Slightly on the more pricey side, this one costs £24.99 for 75g, but it lasts so, so long! This is one that needs a really good massage into skin, but leaves skin looking more radiant and beautifully cleansed. Full review here.

Another organic beauty is the One Love Organics Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm, and boy is this a stunning cleanser! It smells absolutely beautiful, almost like a super-subtle chocolate orange. With pure, cold-pressed plant oils, Mango Butter and 3 supercritical extracts which work together to break-down dirt, grime and makeup, it's a hard-working organic beauty that cleanses skin without stripping skin of it's natural protective layer.

Like most balm cleansers, a little goes a long way, turning into a beautiful balm oil when applied and so soothing to massage into skin. It leaves my skin feeling softer to the touch, whilst looking effortlessly illuminated and refreshed. Even better? This natural beauty is multi-purpose and can even be used to moisturise, tame flyaway hairs and teamed with your favourite base for a treatment foundation (something I'm yet to try myself, but sounds very interesting to say the least!). This is my current favourite night-time cleanser, costing £30 for 51ml. Full review here.

A picture of The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter
A fab high-street balm cleanser, and one I have repurchased a couple of times now, is The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. I adore this cleansing balm, and it's one I'll reach for both morning and night. It literally melts into skin, removing makeup, dirt and grime so easily and effortlessly, with a deliciously soothing scent of Camomile that's super light-weight.

From first use this was a big hit for me, mainly because the consistency is like soft butter and is so easy to use; it doesn't take long to see the benefits of this cleanser and unlike thicker balms, it's much easier to work with. Very travel-friendly packaging wise, too, it's one of my favourites for chucking in an overnight bag when going away. Suitable for even the most sensitive skin and contact lens wearers, this soothing beauty is the cheapest of my 4 picks at just £12 for 76g. Full review here.
