An ode to The Body Shop Body Butters

I love body lotions, crème's and even oils, but there's few things I love more than a hard-working body butter.

Undoubtedly one of the things The Body Shop is most well known for, is their huge range of Body Butters. With a range of over 20 beautiful and addictive scents, each is hard-working to keep skin feeling softer, smoother and more hydrated, all year round. A lot of people turn to body butters more so in the colder months of autumn and winter, but for me personally they're an all year round must-have. I adore the luxuriously thick formula which sinks into skin with ease, leaving my skin feeling instantaneously softer and more hydrated.

Depending on scent, each has it's own array of gorgeous skin-loving ingredients, but there's one ingredient which features in all of the body butters regardless of scent; Shea Butter. The Body Shop use Community Fair Trade Shea Butter, which is ethically sourced from Northern Ghana; long loved as a protective ingredient to keep skin safe from harsh Saharan winds. Working with The Tungteiya Women's Shea Butter Association, The Body Shop ensures that the 528 women who work for the Association in producing and harvesting the Shea Butter are paid a fair wage as well as providing help for those women to invest in community projects.

The expansive 20 scent range has a scent for everyone, whether you love the more subtle scents of Shea and Vitamin E, more warming like Coconut and Cocoa, or something fruity with a touch more oomph like Strawberry, Mango or Satsuma, to name but a few. My personal favourites are Coconut, Honeymania and the new limited edition scent, Smoky Poppy.

A 50ml tub will cost you £5, whilst a 200ml tub costs £13. I find the smaller tubs perfect for travelling, little getaways and holidays - I used to always carry a 50ml tub of the coconut one in my handbag during the summer on bare leg days, in case my legs needed a little TLC after the heat of a long day in the sun. The big tubs last me a good while each; I've been using The Body Shop Body Butters for years, yet I'm still always surprised by how long they last- just like the scent, which lingers throughout the day.

Easily my favourite way to moisturise, I'm a complete body butter addict. What about you?
