Laura Gellar Love Me Dew Lip Crayon

I adore lip crayons. By far my favourite way to apply lip colour in a quick, easy and fuss-free way. When lip crayons first started to take the UK by storm, in the form of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stains, I was smitten. I added as many shades as I could get my hands on to my beauty stash, and for a long while they were all I used. Over the past year or so though I sort of grew out of them, opting again for my beloved traditional lipsticks and even dabbling in liquid lipsticks - but I think I've found a range which has rekindled my love for a quick and easy lip again.

Available in 6 pink and berry shades, the Laura Geller Beauty Love Me Dew Lip Crayons*, £13, does more than your average lip crayon. Infused with Vitamin E which works to keep lips soft as well as providing antioxidant protection, the formula has been designed to be ultra-hydrating and conditioning whilst keeping that lovely balm-like texture fans of lip crayons will love.

I've been trying out Watermelon Cooler, a lovely pink with the slightest red undertones, just like fresh watermelon. There's a definite scent with this lip crayon - but unlike the minty fresh scent of Revlon's offerings which a lot of people didn't like, this has a vanilla scent that reminds me a lot of how MAC lipsticks smell. It's hard to resist licking your lips, that's for sure! The colour pay-off is pretty darn good, one coat will apply a sheer wash of colour, but it can easily be built up for more intensity; I find a couple of swipes across my lips is enough for me.

The finish has a lovely shine to it, not quite a gloss but enough to make lips look fuller, and the formula is really spot on with this one. Each time I've worn this lip crayon, it feels as if I've spent the day wearing a lip balm. Comfortable on the lip, with a moisturising feel that lasts from the moment you pop it on until you take it off. Longevity wise it's not the best, we're talking a couple of hours wear before needing to reapply - especially if eating and drinking in between. But the easy chubby stick crayon design makes it so easy to reapply, that it doesn't really bother me. The packaging has a twist-up design, too, so you don't have to worry about trying to sharpen this one; simply twist-up when you need more product, perfect! Laura Geller, I'm impressed!

Are you a fan of lip crayons? Do you have a favourite brand or shade you think I should check out? Let me know!
