This week is Organic Beauty Week and I have a whole host of organic themed posts in store for you over the next seven days. To kick things off, we're starting with skincare - the one area of beauty that really changed my mind about natural and organic products, the area of beauty where organic products have benefited me the most.

Up until two years ago, my skin was in such a state. I've always suffered from oily skin, but before the past two years, it was unbearable. I'm talking full on oil-slick on my face, day in, day out. At the time I was using mainly budget-friendly skincare from the aisles of Boots, and all it did in the end was exaggerate my skins woes, doing nothing to repair, replenish and nourish my skin. When I first tried organic and natural skincare, it was like a revelation to me. My skin actually started looking good, the oiliness was far easier to manage and overall, my skin looked better than ever. Since then, I've made sure that the products I put on my skin match my skins needs and likes. For me, organic and natural skincare has always proven to be the most effective, and the most beneficial in gaining control over my skin type.

There's some incredible organic beauty brands out there, with products to suit any skin type or need. The difference between organic and standard skincare, is the high quality of ingredients used - and ingredients picked purely for benefiting our skin, not to fill products out with cheap and nasty chemicals. Here are some of my favourites.

Cleansing is, for me, the most important step in any skincare routine. Regardless of whether your skincare is high-street or high-end, it seems fruitless to apply any skincare products to your skin, if you haven't cleansed properly. Cleansing removes dirt, grime and makeup, to ensure that your skin is clear and clean. A good cleansing routine is the starting point to perfect, happy skin.

Liz Earle is famous for the highly coveted Hot Cloth Cleanser (100ml, £14.75), which I adore, but at the moment my favourite Liz Earle product is definitely the Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion (150ml, £10.75) which has been perfect for my tired, sore eyes in the evenings. A calming lotion, it's non-oily and suitable for any skin type, ideal for even those with super sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. It works to refresh and revitalise eyes, with a soothing herbal lotion and natural ingredients of Grassland Herb, Witch Hazel, Organic Aloe Vera and Cornflower, which tone, cool and refresh tired, sore, puffy eyes. It also works wonders to remove eye makeup.

A type of cleansing product I adore, is oil cleansers. They instantaneously remove any traces of makeup from your face, melting it away effortlessly. My favourite cleansing oil is one I recently shared in my August Stand-Outs (see here), and it's one I will definitely be repurchasing time and time again. The Antonia Burrell Natural Glow Cleansing Oil (50ml, £29.50) has a gorgeous formula of Cypress, a natural astringent, Bitter Orange, a natural treatment for acne, Tea Tree, which purifies the skin, Lavender, which calms irritation, Lemon, which brightens tired skin and Castor Seed, which is anti-inflammatory with healing properties. The scent is slightly aroma-therapeutic, but feels like an absolute dream to massage into your skin. It leaves my skin looking healthy, radiant and glowing after every use, and has done wonders to brighten my complexion.

If cream cleansers are more your thing, then I really cannot recommend enough the Organic Surge Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser (150ml, £13.95), which rejuvenates, conditions and protects, whilst working to remove makeup, dirt and grime effortlessly with a luxuriously thick creamy formula. With active ingredients of Orange Peel Oil, which naturally calms skin irritation, Star Anise Oil, an anti-oxidant with anti-wrinkling properties, and Damask Rose Oil, which calms, hydrates and moisturises skin, it's my perfect fail-safe cleanser that leaves my skin very happy after each use.

A new organic product which has joined my stash, is one I have become absolutely obsessed with after just a few uses. The One Love Organics Skin Savior Waterless Beauty Balm* (51ml, £30) is an exquiste balm which is hand-crafted in small batches, using skin-loving ingredients such as Virgin Coconut Oil, Sweet Soy Seed Oil, Organic Beeswax, Mango Seed Butter, Chia Seed Extract, Orange Peel Wax and more. A multi-purpose balm, it can be used for anything from cleansing to taming flyaway hairs or even mixed in with your foundation to create the perfect dewy base. My favourite way to use this beautifully Citrus scented balm? As a cleansing balm. Oh my gosh, seriously, after one use I was head over heels, this is easily the best cleansing balm I have ever used! It effortlessly removes makeup, dirt and grime, is suitable for use on the delicate eye area and leaves my skin feeling heavenly soft after each use. Like, smooth as silk, incredibly super soft skin. Adore.

Toning, the one step most people don't understand, the step I find  most refreshing. I've raved and raved about the Neal's Yard Remedies White Tea Facial Mist (45ml, £11) on the blog before, quite possibly one of my favourite facial mists ever. It ticks all the boxes of a perfect facial mist; it soothes and refreshes, it rehydrates, it's suitable for any skin type (even those of you with super sensitive skin!), helping to plump the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, with star ingredient of antioxidant, anti-ageing White Tea. It smells gorgeous, it feels gorgeous, and it makes my skin look gorgeous. What's not to love?

REN is easily one of my most favourite brands, their skincare products are incredible and always show huge benefits to my skin. When all other moisturisers just don't cut it, I turn to the REN v-Cense range which keeps my skin happy every time. The REN v-Cense Youth Vitality Day Cream* (50ml, £28) is a multi-active day moisturiser which works to prevent and minimise the signs of premature ageing, whilst intensely hydrating, protecting against free radicals and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. It works effortlessly to boost skin engery and elasticity, keeping skin hydrated, protected and glowing. With a slightly thicker consistency than my usual moisturisers, I prefer this beauty for non-makeup days, but it also works incredibly well as a makeup base for a flawless application. It's perfect partner, the REN v-Cense Revitalising Night Cream (50ml, £32), is one of the best night creams I have ever used. Our skin works hardest at night, and the v-Cense night cream works perfectly to keep my skin super happy by hydrating, recharging and revitalising my skin overnight, leaving my complexion looking smoother, radiant and healthy come morning.

An added extra that's one of my most favourite ways to deeply cleanse my skin, is the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (75ml, £21.99), easily one of my favourite face masks ever. It works to intensely cleanse your skin, whilst drawing moisture into the skin and anti-oxidising, leaving you with a smooth, soft and rejuvenated complexion. It uses antibacterial Manuka Honey, and has a delicious scent with hints of Vanilla and Mandarin. 15 minutes at a time is more than enough to leave your skin super happy, and I ensure to use this beauty at least once a week.

The Bodhi & Birch Neroli Luce Revitalising Face Oil (15ml, £32) is one of my 'fail safe' oils. It's the oil I turn to when my skin doesn't seem to be happy with any other product, and it's the oil I can rely on for happy skin. Using skin-toning Tunisian Neroli, rejuvenating Frankincense and restorative Sea Buckthorn Oil, it has a beautiful consistency which feels non-greasy and instantaneously leaves my skin feeling balanced and happy. Working to nourish, hydrate and tone, it leaves my complexion radiant with vital vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, improving elasticity, boosting resilience and protecting my skin from free radicals. Plus? It smells amazing!

Another fantastic product from REN is quite possibly my favourite smoothing product of all time. The REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate (30ml, £30) is an active concentrate, specifically formulated to help resurface skin, creating a renewed, brighter, glowing and toned complexion. Using Glycolic and AHA Acids, it's perfect for diminishing scars, removing dead skin cells, exfoliating skin without inflammation and helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Of all the exfoliating products I've used, this is without a doubt, the best of the best.
