I have two beauty box reviews to share with you all today, and I'm starting things off with Birchbox. I always love when the newest Birchbox lands on my doorstep, and this month there's seven products featured inside the September box*, with a fantastic 'Happy Days!' theme. I have to admit, I am absolutely smitten with the beautiful designed box this month, and it goes perfectly with the theme; bright, cheerful, cute little designs and lots of things we all associate with good luck and happy occasions. There's some fab suggestions in the regular monthly postcards featured, on what to do with the bright and cheerful box, and I think I'll definitely be using mine as a lovely keepsakes box. Isn't it just so pretty?

The first products to catch my eye were this month's lifestyle extras; a bag of Urban Fruit Smashing Strawberry (£13.20 for 6) and a Birchbox Happy Days Photo Clip. I'd spied teasers of the photo clip over on the Birchbox Instagram, so I was really happy to see one in my box. I used to have loads of these in the 90's, all different colours and ones which held more than one photo. Does anyone else remember them? The Urban Fruit was a delicious treat - I love Urban Fruit but nowhere nearby sells it, so I was happy to snack on these from the September box! I've only ever tried Smashing Strawberry, but I'd love to try the other flavours of Magnificent Mango and Perfect Pineapple.

Products wise we have four sample sizes and one full sized product this month. I have to admit, I am a big fan of Birchbox and I always love the contents - I really like the products I received this month - but this definitely isn't my favourite box. I think even one more full sized product would have been lovely. Let's delve in shall we?

One product I'm excited to try is the ModelCo Power Lash Mascara (£24) as I'm a big fan of the ModelCo products I've tried so far. The Power Lash Mascara promises to capture every tiny last lash for maximum impact with minimal effort, using a uniquely shaped wand. Looking forward to giving this a go, especially as I usually stick to high-street for mascaras.

I'm a huge fan of the Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream (£25.50) and I only recently gave it a rave review (see here). I received a 3g sample pot, which is going to come in handy when we're next travelling. Such a good product, I'd really recommend giving this one a try if you are on the lookout for a new eye cream!

There's a 20ml sample of Premae Mild Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub (£25) which recommends twice-weekly uses if using as a facial exfoliator, or perfect for after tanning and hair removal for the body. It contains Olive granules which work to smooth skin, and I'll be giving this a try as a facial exfoliator. It has a light-weight creamy formula, so I'm looking forward to giving this one a try.

I love hair oils. They are the perfect, fuss-free, quick and easy way to keep your hair happy. I received a 4ml sample of the Agave Healing Oil Treatment (£16-£27), a light-weight oil which works to smooth hair, build resiliency and boost shine and colour. Very excited to try this, and I know this adorable 4ml sample will last forever, as you only need a tiny amount!

The final product inside the box is from a brand I really want to explore more. I received a teeny tiny cute sample size of the Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper (£22) in Rio. The sample size reminds me of all the samples my mum used to get with Avon that I'd find in her makeup drawers and try and hide them to play with later. I haven't seen a lipstick sample like this in years! The perfect size for popping in your handbag though. With Cool Mint, Ginger and special Peptides, it works to provide visible plumping with a warm nude colour.

Birchbox costs £10 a month plus £2.95 post & packaging. You can subscribe to Birchbox here.
