Too Faced Beauty Blogger Darlings Set

One of my best buys from Sephora, was the adorable Too Faced Beauty Blogger Darlings set (Sephora, £12.62/$20) Consisting of four products recommended by respected beauty bloggers, this set is unfortunately only available in America. I couldn't resist the set, because I am a sucker for smaller and travel sized products. Not only do they look cute, but I find high-end sample sizes last a really long time. There's no handful of uses with these beauties; I'll easily get at least a few months use out of each. I love the idea of being able to grab a bundle of smaller sized products at an affordable price, because in their full sizes these four products combined would cost £85 - instead I'm paying a fraction of the price, getting a lot of use out of them and being sure that the product works for me, before investing in full size.

I actually really like Too Faced as a brand. I think their packaging stands out, and their products cater to a variety of skin tones and styles. You can create any look from an English rose to bronzed Goddess with Too Faced, and I love that variety! Beauty Blogger Darlings covers four different products most of us are likely to use on an everyday basis.

I was really excited to try the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Light/Medium (Boots, £25), which in itself as a travel size is almost as big as some of the high-end alternatives with the same price range. Described  as an antioxidant-rich cocoa powder, with Too Faced's signature bronzing pigments that create a red toned matte bronzer, I love the bold, stand-out packaging for this one. Red tone bronzers are said to neutralise and even out skintone, and they are often recommended as much more wearable shades for paler beauties, than none red-toned bronzers. For me, Milk Chocolate Soleil is perfect for anything from a contour to an overall glow. Completely matte, there's not a shimmer in sight, it blends effortlessly and looks natural when on. It even smells like chocolate! Love.

With oily skin and even oilier lids, primers are a must for me. Beauty Blogger Darlings includes two primers from Too Faced; there's the Too Faced Shadow Insurance (Escentual, 10ml, £17) and the Too Faced Primed and Poreless (Boots, 35ml, £24) Shadow Insurance is no stranger in my makeup stash, and I have both the full size and another travel size. For me, it's easily comparable to the coveted Urban Decay Primer Potion which I adore, with a slightly thinner consistency, which works just as well at keeping my shadows in place all day long. No creasing, no smudging, my eyes are left looking like new by the time I'm ready to take my makeup off. The product itself is almost skintone in colour, but once worked in, it leaves no marks whilst neutralising the colour of your eyes, making them seem more fresh. Eyeshadows apply effortlessly above, whether powder or cream, blended crease or wash of colour, and the longevity is fantastic.

The face primer however is new to me, and I was excited to give it a try, with the Shadow Insurance working so well. Described as a 'one-of-a-kind' makeup primer which has been scientifically formulated to keep everything from liquid to powder products in place, it also promises to minimise the appearance of pores and imperfections, with a formula very similar to Shadow Insurance. Once applied, it effortlessly makes my skin look smoother, even clearer. Staying power, I'm impressed that each time I have used Primed and Poreless, my makeup has stayed in place, only needing to touch up powder after several hours.

I've heard a lot about the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (LookFantastic, £19), with many blogger hailing it as the best Too Faced mascara on offer. Promising to effortlessly create luscious lashes, Better Than Sex has been specifically formulated to produce fuller, thicker, intense lashes, with an hourglass brush and super stiff bristles, that help you pick up even the smallest of lashes you'd usually struggle to pick up. I've used Better Than Sex just a few times, but each time I have found it super easy to apply, my lashes are left looking longer, thicker and more defined, with no smudging throughout the day. An oil-based eye makeup remover is best, but it comes off pretty easily.
