Charlotte Tilbury The Vintage Vamp
Charlotte Tilbury The Vintage Vamp
We all have it, that special piece in our collection that we keep tucked away for special occasions, which steals our beauty adorers heart more than any other. When Charlotte Tilbury released her own beauty line, I was completely smitten with the packaging; luxurious, chic and feminine, but with a feisty edge that stands out from other brands. Every visit to Selfridge's results in time spent swooning over the incredibly beautiful products, swatching away and dreaming of a collection filled with Charlotte Tilbury beauties. There's so many utterly breathtaking pieces in the range, such as the stunning Filmstar Bronze & Glow (which I am determined to add to my collection soon), Bar of Gold which is the most incredible golden highlight, and the Colour Chameleon Colour-morphing Eyeshadow Pencils, which have just the most beautiful shade range. For now though, there's just one Charlotte Tilbury piece in my collection, which has made it's way to the top of my list as the most beautiful quad I own from it's very first use.

When I decided to treat myself to a Charlotte Tilbury quad, I spent more time than usual researching, reading reviews and sourcing swatches online. Two reviews swung it for me when I was deciding whether to make the investment; Vanessa over at The Other VW and Wayne Goss over on his YouTube channel, GossMakeupArtist. As both Vanessa and Wayne are makeup artists, I knew I could trust their judgment on both the quality and shades, and it didn't take me long to pick my favourite quad from the beautiful selection available; The Vintage Vamp (Selfridges, £38).

The Vintage Vamp is presented in a gorgeous quad, with the Charlotte Tilbury colour scheme of rose gold and deep, warm reddish brown. With a handy how-to guide on the back of the quad, telling you which order to use the shadows and where, my favourite aspect of the packaging has to be the most adorable little engraved star on the inner mirror; making every use feel more special, a touch of something-something other brands lack. This tiny engraved star, for me, says a lot about Charlotte Tilbury in both the way she approaches beauty with both love and passion, as well as making all of her clients - and customers of her range - feel extra special.

The shades are like no others in my collection. The lightest shade is a beautiful pale rose gold with fine shimmer, the Prime shade in the palette which can be used as an all over wash of colour, with a touch more intensity in the inner-corner to open up your eyes. Next we have the Enhance shade, a rustic burgundy that is just heavenly; I love placing this on the outer third of my eye. The Smoke shade is next, with a warmer, deep burgundy, which makes the perfect crease colour and also works wonderfully as an upper and lower lash line colour, followed by the Pop shade; an incredible true golden shimmer which I place in the center of my lids. The shadows each have a beautiful formula; the Prime, Enhance and Smoke shades have buttery soft powder formulas, with fantastic colour pay-off, super easy to apply and effortless to blend. The Pop shade is a touch less vibrant than it looks in the pan and can take more work to apply, but creates the most amazing finish to any look and really works well as a stand-out shade. One of the reasons I adore The Vintage Vamp as much as I do, is how well the shades go with my chocolate brown eyes; nothing makes my eyes look as good as The Vintage Vamp, nothing makes them stand out so much whilst still looking classy and chic. It's just beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

I'm smitten. Head over heels. If you haven't checked out the Charlotte Tilbury range yet, what are you waiting for?!
