Maybelline Colorsens Nude Lipstick

Maybelline Colorsens Nude Lipstick

Last Summer I found myself drawn to every bright colour I could find, whether it was vibrant oranges and sweet corals, vivid pinks or soft lavender purples and bright reds. A high-end lip lover, I was over the moon when I found a drugstore range that was purse-friendly, had a great shade range and had a formula that easily pushed even some of my most luxurious lipsticks off of the top spot. I've always struggled in the drugstore to find that perfect lipstick formula, but now that I have I can't stop adding more and more to my collection. What brand has impressed me so much I hail their lipsticks as the best of the best for the high-street? Maybelline.

A brand I've hardly dabbled in for anything other than lip products, the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks (Boots, £7.19) are a range I urge everyone to try. A creamy yet opaque formula with fantastic colour-pay off and very good longevity for the drugstore, the Color Sensational lipsticks feel light-weight and moisturising when on, with no worry of bleeding or smudging. Having only added the brightest shades which caught my eye to my lip product stash, I was incredibly excited to find out about a new release of perfect nudes. Having spotted the new range in Allure Magazine, I was eagerly awaiting news of the Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs range launching in the UK. To my surprise when shopping in Birmingham last week, I spotted a range which looked suspiciously similar, but under another name... I do wish brands would keep product and shade names the same Country to Country, but as soon as I realised 'The Buffs' were already in the UK under the guise of the Maybelline Colorsens Nude Lipstick (Boots, £6.99) range, I just had to snap some up!

The range includes ten perfect nude shades in America, with just 5 making it over to the UK; Naked Brown, Tantalizing Taupe, Sultry Sand, Coffee Craze and Honey Beige. I went swatch crazy, having a look at all the shades available and I settled on three to add to my collection. Honey Beige is the most everyday wearable of my three picks, a very pretty 'my lips but better' which reminds me of MAC Hug Me and my most reached for of the three. Tantalizing Taupe is a touch warmer but still very much a nude and has a touch more something-something to it than Honey Beige which is very neutral. Coffee Craze is the warmest of the three and makes a really lovely shade for teaming with Spring eyes and cheeks. The whole range is super pretty with lovely shades to suit a variety of skin tones. I think of the shades available, I've snapped up all the shades which compliment my skin tone, although if the range expands I'd be excited to see whether any new shades are a perfect match, too!

Will you be trying the new Colorsens Nude Lipsticks?
