Urban Decay 'Fiend' Revolution Lipstick
14 September
I am a big fan of Urban Decay; for me, Urban Decay eyeshadows are hard to beat, their Primer Potion is a firm favourite and their Pore Perfection Complexion Primer Potion is hands down the best primer I have ever used. Ever. I'm a sucker for a good lipstick and up until now, I've hailed MAC as my favourite brand for lipsticks. But could that be about to change? I think so.
When Urban Decay announced they would be releasing a line of new lipsticks, the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick, I was pretty excited. I have never tried a lipstick from Urban Decay before and although I own one of their fantastic Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour Pencils in F-Bomb (Debenhams, £14), the thought of having an actual lipstick, from a brand I adore so much - well it got my beauty adorers interest. So what makes the Revolution lipsticks stand out from other high-end brands? With a Maxi-Lip formula which works to plump your lips, and nourishing oils to pamper and preen your lips, these aren't just any ordinary lippies. Containing a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter, your lips won't just look great with flawless colour, but left feeling softened and nourished. A fair few times I was ready to order online, but with high-end lipsticks I prefer to be able to swatch them first - just to make sure the shade will suit me. So when in Nottingham last week, the first thing I did was pop straight to Debenhams to check out the Urban Decay counter. There were more than a few shades which caught my eye, but after some help from a very lovely Urban Decay girl, I picked the shade Fiend.
Fiend is a beautiful pinky nude shade. I have quite a few nudes, but most of them are warm toned nudes. I also have a lot of pinks, but they can often be bright or too pinky. Fiend is the perfect in between. The Revolution Lipsticks are advertised as creamy, 'badass luxury' with a pigment infused system which delivers amazing pigments and colour pay off, with a creamy formula and shine finish. On the lips, this is a dreamy lipstick! It's soft, it's definitely creamy, but it's not slippy, greasy nor does it bleed or easily smudge. It glides on so easily and the shade is stunning and so wearable; I think it would suit most skin tones, although it may be a little dull on darker skinned beauties. It's the perfect shade to finish off a natural look and although it needs reapplying after eating, it's just so darn beautiful. I definitely want more shades from the range, Venom is next on my list! (Debenhams, £15)
