Rain, rain, go away...

2 Aug 2013

British weather. We love to hate it! We’ve had a lucky few weeks of absolutely beautiful sunshine and blazing heat, and the first time we get a spot of rain I’m in a panic about my winter wardrobe. I’ve never really been one for proper winter wear, I mainly stick to hoodies and if it’s really, really cold, then I might give my winter coat an outing. But I get in such a huff having to take it off, put it on, take it off and carry it around. I definitely need something more light-weight for this winter and there are a few things I’ve been looking into. I really want a pair of Hunter wellies to keep my feet dry and warm, for a change from my biker boots, and I’ve loved the look of Barbour jackets recently, which look so, so warm and I think are pretty weather resistant! I particularly like this aubergine Barbour summer liddesdaleprinted quilted jacket, which is actually half price at the moment reduced from £99.95 to just £45! I’m not sure it’d be the most appropriate for real glum, rainy days though – as it’s a summer version. So I’ve also had my eye on the Barbourutility polarquilt jacket, £139, which is in olive. I like the way the shape of this Barbour, it looks like it would be flattering even on a curvy type like me! But, I’m a creature of habit, and the Barbour international polarquiltjacket in black, £179, might be more up my street, but still with a nice shape like the olive one. I think it’s time for me to get saving… Have you started thinking about your winter wardrobe yet? Do you own a Barbour jacket yourself? It’s pouring down in Nottinghamshire today, so I’m taking it as a nudge to give my wardrobes a good clear out, popping unloved pieces to the charity shop. And maybe after a bit of saving, I’ll find one of these Barbour jackets in my wardrobe one day…

  1. I adore these jackets, I got myself an imitation one from Dorothy Perkins a couple of years ago and it has been the best coat I have ever bought. I am defo in the market for a new one though - the olive one is gorgeous.
On my winter list is a pair of warm, snuggly, waterproof boots. Oh and some slippers - I use flip flops in summer but I enjoy a good fluffy pair of slippers when the weather turns.
    Love your blog chick,

    1. I need some good boots for this Winter! I had some fab ones from New Look last winter, but they got a bit wrecked when I opted to wear them at Download this summer xo

  2. I would happily wear all of those xx
