July Top 5

July was a good month. July is my birthday month and so every year, it's a month which I look towards with excitement and fear in equal measures. I decided to use one of my birthday cards in today's photos, because it was the best birthday card ever, which I plan to frame and put on my desk so I can see it every time I sit down to write a post. I feel no different now being 25 to how I felt at 24, but it's certainly given me a little kick up the backside towards a few things! But enough of birthday stuffs, that was a fortnight ago! Time to share with you the products which made it into my July Top 5! All of the products in this month's Top 5 are high-end, but trust me, they are amazing products which are worth the price tag. These products have wowed me throughout July!

First up, my Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer Potion. I picked this up in May and have never looked back since. I have tried a lot of primers in my time and I have a few which I reach for time and time again. But this primer is in a league of it's own! Designed with similar packaging to the Urban Decay Primer Potion, the Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer Potion works to smooth the skin, prepping it for foundation with an airbrushed finish. Ideal for all skin types, even those with oily skin, it is a pale beige product which once applied smooths to a soft, mattified finish. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy when applied, in fact it's fairly light weight. It leaves my skin looking fantastic after application, even before applying my base, as it leaves my skin looking smoothed, my pores appear smaller and less obvious and when I do pop a base on, bases go on so easily, sitting well on my skin with a smooth, almost flawless airbrushed finish. This has been an absolute gem for me in July, with our heatwave here in the UK, it's managed to keep my makeup in place even on the hottest of days. I don't use it all over, just on my forehead, nose, top of cheeks and chin. Do I think another primer will ever come close to the miracles this seems capable of? I doubt it! (Beautybay, 30ml, £19, free delivery)

When the MAC Fashion Sets collection came out I bought all four lipsticks. What can I say, I am a sucker for a MAC limited edition lipstick. I've mainly been using the brighter, more summery shades but a lipstick I've reached for a lot this month, has been Heroine. It's a really deep, sultry purple that I've found looks really lovely with the tan I've picked up over these blazing hot few weeks we've had. It's definitely become a firm favourite lipstick for me and I know I'll get even more use out of this as the colder months came around. Unfortunately as Heroine was part of a limited edition collection, it's no longer available. But an alternative purple shade which are in the permanent line is Rebel which is just as beautiful. (MAC, £15) Another MAC product I've been really adoring, which is actually a very new addition to my collection, is the MAC MSF in Lust. Part of the Tropical Taboo collection this is another limited edition product which is sold out on the MAC website but you can probably find it in store, and it's also available on the Selfridge's website. This is just utterly beautiful! I am besotted. I have never owned a highlighter which isn't either golden yellow or bronze. This is a beautiful iridescent pink with very pale purple undertones. It just looks stunning on and makes a beautiful highlighter, whilst also being great used as a blush. I think I might be a little bit in lust with Lust (See what I did there?) (Selfridges, £22)

I've been trying out a body product from Kiehl's, which has been interesting for me as I have only ever tried skincare from Kiehl's before. The Kiehl's Creme de Corps was introduced to me at the Kiehl's Blogger Evening back at the beginning of the year and from testing it in store, I was dying to try it. I was kindly sent a bottle of Creme de Corps and have been using it every day since. One of Kiehl's most popular and best selling products, Creme de Corps is rumoured to be a favourite of Victoria's Secret models. A super hydrating moisturiser and formulated with beta-carotene, squalane and nurturing oils, it's ideal for even the driest of skin. Creme de Corps leaves my skin feeling instantly softened, more supple and the hydration it delivers to my skin lasts all day. It's definitely a luxurious, high-end body moisturiser, but I've found this perfect from softening my skin, to beating those rougher, drier areas such as my knees and elbows and transforming them into soft and supple skin. It also worked wonders on my new tattoo whilst healing, so for me it's an absolute winner! (Kiehl's*, 250ml, £27) Last but not least, my holy grail liquid eyeliners. I use to exclusively use gel or cream eyeliners, for around the past 18 months or so, as liquid liners from the high-street had begun to irritate my eyes, leaving them sore and with a stringing sensation. But after trying the Illamasqua Precision Ink liquid eyeliners, I am completely converted back to a liquid liner fan. I was kindly given Abyss*, which is a jet black liquid liner, in my goody bag from the #LDNBBMeet, and I recently purchased Havoc, which is a true aubergine shade, in the recent Illamasqua sale. These are a-m-a-zing! Never has a liner not only applied absolutely perfectly and super easily, but these babies do not budge! They stay put even in the hottest of whether and take a good bi-phase oil-based eye makeup remover to get them off. I am definitely repurchasing when these run out, best liquid liners I have ever used! (Illamasqua, £18
