Illamasqua Pink Raindrops Review
12 May
Illamasqua is probably more well known for their wild collections, creative ideas and truly flawless finish professional products. So imagine my delight when I laid my eyes on Illamasqua Pink Raindrops polish! A beautiful pale pink with iridescent glitter, this polish is a beautiful polish for Summer which goes with any look you desired! A super wearable shade, the Illamasqua Pink Raindrops polish applies evenly and opaque to my nails, and stays chip free for at least 6 days! I love wearing this either alone or teamed with another pink polish and used on my accent nail to add a touch of magical sparkle. I really adore how this polish looks when the light bounces off of it, it's truly a lovely shade which brings a smile to your face! A limited edition polish, you can pick up Illamasqua Pink Raindrops over on the Illamasqua website, where it costs £14.50.
My tips for glitter polishes
Although in this particular polish the glitter isn't chunky or overly obvious, it does still have glitter in it. I love glitter polishes and find adding a glitter topcoat to a polish can entirely change the look of it! But boy oh boy can they be a nightmare to remove. Sometimes it can take me ages to remove glitter polishes but one method I really like is moderately soaking cotton pads with nail polish removing, wrapping them around your nails and then wrapping them with tin foil. I just find this makes it easier to swipe off the polish after it the cotton pads and tin foil have been left on for 10-15 minutes. If you have any top tricks for removing glitter polishes, I'd love to hear them.

What a pretty colour, it's a lovely shade of pink but not too overpowering!x

I agree, it's pink enough but not so pink you need sunglasses. Just the right shade I think xo

I hope you will give it a go :) xo
DeleteI have been wanting this colour for a while! I know that the original 'Raindrops' is quite sheer, how many coats does it take until its opaque? Xx
ReplyDeleteI applied three coats but two is plenty for an opaque finish xo
DeleteBrilliant swatches. This is a total fav of mine, so much so i'm giving away a bottle on my blog.

Ohh lovely! That's super generous of you :) I love sharing the products we love most xo
DeleteI love Pink Raindrops, it's such a gorgeous shade. I had a bit of trouble with the overall texture of mine once applied, but I've got a feeling that a good topcoat will sort it out for me!

I applied a top coat and it was absolutely fine :) I know what you mean though xo
DeleteThis is such a pretty shade, I plan on making a trip to an illamasqua counter as soon as the ban is over to swatch it :). Personally I can never be bothered to faff around with tin foil to remove glitter polish (I will always do everything the lazy way) So I just remove the colour as usual, leaving behind all the glitter then use the buffing side of a nail file to loosen the glitter off the nail- obviously taking care not to buff the nail surface. It's fairly quick as well :)
