Bobbi Brown Corrector & Concealer Review

14 May 2013

Getting the perfect base is one of the most important steps for me in my makeup routine. Foundation, concealers and correctors have to work well with my skin, be the perfect shade and applied flawlessly (or as flawless as I can get it) for me to be happy. So it's no wonder I've been dying to try these two massively holy grail blogger products - The Bobbi Brown Corrector and Concealer.

The Bobbi Brown Corrector comes in a huge variety of 16 shades and is a 'wake up call' for tired eyes. Used before your concealer, the correctors are either pink or peach based and work to neutralise under-eye darkness. With a new and improved formula, it's long-wearing and brightens dark circles with just the right amount of coverage that's easy to blend and won't crease. It's also infused with skin conditioners which work to protect the delicate under-eye area! I use the shade Light Peach and find it perfectly rids me of any discolouration or dark circles ready for my creamy concealer.

The Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer comes in 15 shades; I use the shade Beige. The perfect partner to follow the Corrector, this is Bobbi Brown's secret to looking fresh and well rested. A yellow based concealer, it works to instantly camouflage dark circles and tired eyes. With long-wearing perfect coverage, it's new formula means it is richer and creamier, applying effortlessly and smoothly, lasting all day with no creasing. Like the corrector, it's infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under eye area.

Both the Bobbi Brown Corrector and the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer cost £18 each, although you can also buy them in a set together for £24 saving £12! The shade range is so vast, there's bound to be the perfect shade for you, from the palest of beauties to those with darker skin tones. I thought I would get through these so, so quickly. But after using them a fair few times a week now for at least four weeks, I can honestly say I haven't even made a dent in them. A little goes a long way and the formula is perfect so that it's creamy enough to apply effortlessly, but not thick or greasy. I love them! If you've tried these before, let me know your thoughts on them! Are they something you'd like to try?

Do you have to use correctors and concealers?
If you are blessed with beautifully flawless skin, then you probably don't need a corrector or concealer. But for those of us less blessed, I think they can be an absolute Godsend. I can get quite dark circles under my eyes, so the corrector and concealer work to correct the colour in that area and conceal for the same reason as well as brightening the under eye area, making me look more awake. I also use concealers if I have a blemish which needs hiding if my foundation isn't medium to full coverage. I always have a tube of my ever-favourite Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in my bag for on the go touch ups!
