Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove - Reviewed!

8 Apr 2013

The first time I heard of the Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove was when Emily of EmilyNoel83 reviewed it over on her YouTube channel. Straight away I was super intrigued - I wash my brushes at least once a week and think it's a hugely important thing for anyone to do who uses makeup brushes, no matter how frequently you use them. I actually find washing my makeup brushes relaxing, but boy oh boy can it take a long time. So the idea of a glove which could make that quicker, well, I was drawn in straight away!

This beautifully bright pink glove does come with two negatives, and I am going to get those out of the way now before I get on with the review. Firstly, negative reviews. When I posted a photo of this over on my Instagram, a few people mentioned seeing a negative review on YouTube. I had actually seen the video in question already, and yes, I do agree that it does have the aesthetic appearance of an oven glove. But you have to remember, it is a glove. So of course it will resemble an oven glove, which oddly enough, is also a glove! I think like with all products that yes, check out reviews, in their dozens and even hundreds, but ultimately, it's often a case of trying something yourself to see what it is really like.

The second negative is the price. This is not going to be something that anybody and everyone picks up. With a UK retail price of £32.95, it is steep. It's expensive, but it's from an expensive brand, so you have to kind of expect it. This is going to be more of a luxury buy than a necessity buy for a lot of people.

OK so negatives out of the way, what do I think to the Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove?

The Benefits
The Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove has six unique cleaning textures. Two textures are wash textures, one for eye brushes and one for face brushes. Two textures are rinse textures, again one for eye brushes and one for face brushes. There's a refine texture, for eye and face brushes, and a shape texture, again for both eye and face brushes, all of which work to give your brushes a quick, easy and effective deep clean. A dual-sided glove with surfaces ideal for any kind of brushes, high-grade silicone for durability and microfiber inner-glove for added comfort, the Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove the latest must have Sigma brush product, available in four colours.

My Thoughts
I love this glove! The first time I used it, I wasn't overly rough with my brushes, but I found that the product came off of my brushes super easy, took probably a good 10-15 minutes less time than it usually would to wash my brushes as well as being the easiest way to get liquid product off of my brushes, ever. I adore the rinse section of my glove because when I had finished washing a brush and laid it down to dry, they already felt half dry! Usually I leave my brushes over night to dry completely, particularly with my bigger brushes. Since that first time using it I've been a lot braver. I was worried it might cause my brushes to shed but not one single brush has, so that's a huge plus. I can now wash my entire brush collection (which is 40+ brushes) within half an hour - half the time it takes without the glove. The drying time is for me the biggest benefit to this glove because it means I don't have to wait over night to dry my brushes, I can wash them in the morning and by afternoon they are ready to use again! And it works to get every last bit of product off. This pink beauty might resemble an oven glove to some - but for me it's made brush washing quicker, more effective and even a bit fun!

While this won't be for everyone, I think this would be a fab addition for those with an extensive brush collection, makeup artists and huge fans of Sigma alike. You can find it on the Beauty Chamber website here and it costs £32.95, available in hot pink, aqua, purple and black.
