Clarins Splendour Collection review + FOTD.

4 Apr 2013

I'm sure if you have already seen any photos of the Clarins Splendour limited edition Summer Collection pieces, you would have been just as blown away as I am by the amazingly beautiful and utterly stunning, jaw dropping detail in each of the pieces. I genuinely could not get over the sheer beauty of these two pieces from the collection and think they are now the most stunning makeup pieces in my collection. The Splendours collection is inspired by South American and  Aztec prints and designs, with shimmering and glitter filled shades of golds and bronzes. A truly beautiful collection, this is one you cannot let slip you by.

The piece which blew me away the most from this collection was without a doubt, the Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact. Never in my life have I seen such detail embossed in makeup; and that's coming from me, who always praises the unique, eye-catching and simply breath-taking designs Clarins add to each of their limited edition collections. As someone who will happily admit I am a bronzer addict, this stole my heart and had my eyes dazzling with lust.

The detailed embossing hosts three bronzer shades. A deeper warm bronze shade with tiny shimmer detail which could easily pass as matte, a lighter bronze shade again with tiny shimmer that passes for matte when on, and a golden bronzed highlight shade finished off in the centre of the compact. Singularly, all work beautifully to add warmth to my face, but I best prefer the two bronze shades used together, with just a touch of the center highlight sweeped across my upper cheek bone. A dreamy and silky soft formula, I am in awe of this bronzer. It's the first Clarins bronzer I have used and I am so impressed. I'm definitely going to spend more time looking at the Clarins bronzers next time I am at a Clarins stand! Released this month, the Clarins Splendour Summer Bronzing Compact will retail for £30.

With a similar and yet equally beautifully design, the Clarins Splendour Colour Quartet and Liner Palette has four beautiful shimmer shades; a truly beautiful and stand out warm copper, a pale sand gold, a beautiful rose gold and a deep mauvey plum, all accompanied by a stunning deep plum liner which compliments the shades amazingly well. Presented in the signature Clarins style quartet palette with keep-sake little bag to keep it safe and scratch free in, a mirror and two applicators, this quartet is one which would hold a special place in anyones makeup collection.

Both pieces are so exquisitely presented and beautiful, that's it's almost hard to bring yourself to use them. But the shades are far too flattering and stunning to let pass you by. I used both of these for my one year anniversary date night with my partner, and found the shades to be so flattering particularly against my brown eyes, and I have since found myself reaching for the bronzing compact each day for a truly extravagant finish to my look, and the copper shade from the quartet for a perfect pop of colour to my lids.

I'm in awe Clarins, yet again.

In the below photo I have used all four of the shadows along with the liner. I think it creates a very pretty, subtle day-time look perfect for those brighter, warmer days.
