Dear Stereo Rose...

Ah, Stereo Rose. I feel we got off on the wrong foot when you showed your pretty little face again and hoards of MAC obsessives pledged their love. For I, who had never even tried a MAC Mineralize Skin Finish, I called you names. I said you looked like the burnt skin of a pale person. I said you were horrendous. A disgusting colour which had no appeal whatsoever.

How wrong I was.

It's true - When Stereo Rose came out for the Apres Chic MAC collection, I really didn't take to it. I did think it looked like burnt skin in the swatches I had seen circulating, and I completely didn't understand the hype around it. So imagine my surprise when I was in a MAC store and curiosity got the better of me to swatch it, to find that actually, it was a beautiful shade against my naturally tanned skin. So much so was my surprise, that I bought the last one they had.

MAC Stereo Rose is probably (at the minute at least) the blush I reach for the most. It is very shimmery, and I say blush lightly as I think it's a combination between a blush and a highlighter. As described on the MAC website, the MAC MSF's are "A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on, adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, brows, anywhere on the body and provides and ultra-deluxe polish to the skin." Now this isn't really a shade I would apply all over, but I do love it for a flush of colour on my cheeks and I have a feeling in the Summer, I'm pretty sure I'm going to like this even more.

MAC Stereo Rose isn't available anymore - I know, I know. I'm probably being sent vibes through cyberspace scolding me for blogging about it. But I'm sure, as Apres Chic wasn't the first collection it popped up in, that one day it will again be the most lusted product in another collection. And when it does, I'd really recommend popping down to a store and giving this a proper swatch to see if it'd suit you!
