The Skincare Series | Eye Creams

23 Feb 2013

Makeup can cover a multiple of sins, but one thing I think is much harder to cover with makeup, is eye concerns. For me personally, I suffer from dark circles and bags on my under eye area and they can be the bane of my life to sort out sometimes! There are three products I have been using lately and at long last, I feel like I have battled and conquered the concerns I had for my eye area, and just in time for the skincare series on eye creams! A good eye cream will do what makeup can't - fix the problem at the cause. The skin around our eyes is incredibly sensitive and delicate, so it's important that we do what we can to look after it!

A review of the Origins GinZing Eye Cream

The Origins GinZing Eye Cream* is a best seller for Origins and also a product many of you will have seen raved and raved about in the blogosphere. I've been using it for the past three weeks and I can completely see why it is such a well-loved product. The Ginzing eye cream helps to reduce the look of dark circles, unsightly bags and puffiness. Origins proprietary complex of caffeine from coffee bean, Panax ginseng, magnolia extract and natural optic brighteners rapidly wakes up, refreshes and restores radiance to tired eyes. Unlike most eye creams I have tried and tested, this isn't a white cream product. It has a slight colour to it and whenever I apply it I feel like it's almost an eye cream and a concealer in one. I've really enjoyed using it and see a big difference when I use it. This is my preferred morning eye cream for days I am wearing makeup.

A review of the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment

When I went to the Nottingham's Kiehl's Blogger Gathering back in January, I picked up two eye creams from them which I had been lusting over for quite a while. I picked one eye cream for the morning, and one for night time. I have seriously fallen in love with both of them and out of all the eye creams I have tried, these are my two favourites. The Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is possibly one of the more bizarre, yet utterly beautiful, eye care products I have tried. A pale avocado green coloured cream, it can seem quite thick, but to use you rub your desired amount of the product between your fingers and the cream becomes an almost oil like product! It has a unique, concentrated texture with is enriched with avocado to gently moisturise the delicate eye area. It's utterly beautiful and super refreshing and it's my go-to eye cream for days when I am going makeup free.

If you really want a great night-time eye cream which really works, I cannot recommend enough the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye Cream. It is specifically formulated for the delicate under-eye area to achieve fresher, younger looking eyes by morning, by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Formulated with butcher's broom, squalane, evening primrose and lavender, this eye cream is paraben, fragrance and mineral oil free. It is also beautiful when used alongside the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (which I will be reviewing soon!) I couldn't imagine using this in my night time routine!
