The Skincare Series | Exfoliators

It's been a while since the last Skincare Series post, but I am back again and this time I am going to be talking exfoliators! Exfoliating is something I actually really enjoy doing. There was a time I didn't enjoy it and in fact I strayed away from exfoliating, at one point stopping exfoliating altogether. For someone with oily skin, I was incorrectly told that exfoliating would make my oil worse. When in fact the opposite was true! When I stopped exfoliating my skin because so unbareably oily that it made my everyday life a struggle. And that is no exaggeration! The amount of oil I was producing was ridiculous. I started exfoliating again and now it is part of both my morning and night routines, with difficult products for different times. So I am going to share with you my top 5!

Let's start with the Le Belle Natural Skincare exfoliating balm. I received a sample of this and I reviewed it in full with several other Le Belle products (read the review here) and it is quite possibly one of the nicest exfoliators I have ever used. So, so lovely! It's soft, gentle, yet does the job. It's one I would suggest for people with sensitive skin! Another one I would say is great for sensitive skin and one I reserve for pampering sessions is one of my ultimate and favourite skincare products. I am of course on about the Pai Kukui and Jojoba Bead Brightening Exfoliator. This is one of the most luxurious, pampering exfoliators I've ever used and you can read my review of it here. It is perfect for a pampering session, suitable for any skin types (even the most sensitive) and is just utterly lovely!

The Brightening Apricot Scrubble from Jason is a bit rough for me, and I only use it about once a fortnight or once a month. But it also doubles up as a wonderful body scrub for those super dry areas such as knees, heels and elbows (yes, that is really how rough it is) but I like this because of how much it really works to brighten my complexion. The ones I am using the most of recently are the Clean & Clear Morning Energy Skin Brightening Daily Facial Scrub and the Dirty Works Pore-fect Face Scrub. I use the Clean & Clear one in the mornings and although I really can't abide the smell, it is lovely and gentle and wakes me up, leaving me brighter faced and ready for the day. The Dirty Works one I use at night time before bed, especially if I have worn makeup. The exfoliating texture of this is a little more coarse, but it's also fine, so still gentle and effective. Both of these have lasted me absolutely ages and I will be repurchasing both!

Exfoliating our faces is important to remove dead skin cells, clear and improve pores, brighten and an array of other beauty musts. For me, I just couldn't be without a good exfoliator (or two) and using one in the morning and one at night keeps my oil in control as well as sorting out my large, clogged pores. Let me know if you use any of these and what your thoughts are on them. And be sure to let me know what your favourite facial exfoliator is! Next up in the Skincare Series I will be discussing toners!
