MUA Innocence Eyeshadow Trio

29 Nov 2012

A picture of MUA Innocence Eyeshadow Trio

I am such a big fan of MUA eye-shadows. I think for a high-street brand whose shadows start at £1, the quality of them is just amazing. Far above and beyond the quality you would expect from such a cheap brand anyway. I won't deny it - When I was first introduced to MUA by my friend, I kind of stuck my nose at them. Now I'm not a high-end makeup snob, most of my makeup is high-street. But I've used cheap brands before and been let down. So when my friend told me about MUA and that their shadows were just £1, at first all I could think was, "Well their going to be dire then aren't they?" But how very wrong I was! Not only is MUA a brand I return to time and time again, but their eye-shadows are some of my favourites - high-street and high-end included.

Andis Elevate Hairdryer

A picture of the Andis Elevate Hairdryer

I don't know about anyone else but a good hair-dryer leaves me giddy. I love hair-dryers. Yes, I know that's odd. And yes, I know heat from any styling tool can damage your hair. But I love hair-dryers! It's in my nature. By trade, I am a fully trained hair stylist. I used to run the hair side of a hair and beauty salon and although I'd never go back to those long, gruelling under-paid days again, there was always something therapeutic about blow-drying someone's hair. And so when this beautifully bright and gorgeous hair-dryer turned up on my door step, I was more than a little bit excited. This is a beauty!!

Make Your Makeup Last Longer

Everyone is obsessed with recycling these days and the importance of making things last longer. The majority of us are guilty to spending more than we should on our favourite makeup. Or frantically using your makeup brush in hope of some leftover traces? Well, there are more practical methods out there to help delay your trip to the shops to top up. We’ve made up a list of some smart, and in some ways odd tricks of the trade to help your makeup last longer and in turn, save you some money!

Inika Precious Metallics Gold Collection

28 Nov 2012

A picture of Inika Precious Metallics Gold Collection

Inika is a wonderful cruelty free, vegan and vegetarian friendly, mineral cosmetics brand. I have shared their products here on my blog before and their loose eye-shadows and eyeliners are some of my absolute favourites. I actually think their eyeliners are some of the most perfect creamy liners and are in the same league as the Urban Decay 24-7 liners. You can read my review on some more Inika makeup, here. Today I am going to be sharing with you their Precious Metallics Gold Collection from their Christmas range.

November 2012 Favourites

A picture of November 2012 Favourites

I like doing favourites posts. Personally, I like sharing the products I've been turning to the most and loving. I also adore reading other people's favourites posts and finding a few new things to add to my ever-growing wishlist. This month I have seven products to share with you that I've been adoring this November. And yes, I am super excited that November is over and we are closer and closer to my favourite time of year, Christmas!

MAC Supercontinental Powder Blush

26 Nov 2012

A picture of MAC Supercontinental Powder Blush

I was very lucky to win this MAC blush in a giveaway. It's from the Style Seeker collection and is just the perfect shade for me. It's not too dissimilar to my Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso (read review here), with just a touch more pink to it. I've been tempted by MAC blushes before but for me, I don't quite feel I am yet at the stage where I can justify the price of MAC blushes, as I wear bronzers far more often than blush and blush is something I have only become confident with over the past few months. This is the perfect shade to break me in to MAC blushes though. The shade is called Supercontinental and is a beautiful coral peach shade.

theBalm Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette

25 Nov 2012

A picture of theBalm Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette

Is this not the coolest, brightest, most fun palette you ever did lay your eyes upon? I am utterly in love with this Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette from theBalm. Out of all of my makeup products, this is the most eye-catching. Just looking at it cheers me up. I have most of my palettes in a drawer, but this one just has to stay out on my dresser because it makes me smile just to see it there in all of it's colourful glory! (Hence all the photos in this post, I just adore the look of this palette!) My very first theBalm product, and one which has definitely got me hooked.

Wet N' Wild Cool As A Cucumber Eyeshadow Trio

24 Nov 2012

A picture of Wet N' Wild Cool As A Cucumber Eyeshadow Trio

I have wanted to try Wet N' Wild for absolutely ages. I think it's the same across all beauty bloggers in the UK - We always want American products which seem near on impossible to get in the UK. So imagine how happy I was to see this trio from Wet N' Wild, unopened and unused, in a blog sale! Obviously I jumped at the chance and bought it straight away. And I love it!

Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil

22 Nov 2012

A picture of Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil

When Bumble and Bumble released this bright and vibrant bottle of oil, named the Hairdressers Invisible Oil, I was super excited. I am a big, big fan of Bumble and Bumble. I wholeheartedly believe they are worth every single penny and I also believe they deserve every last bit of raving and hype they get. Their products are truly some of the most amazing hair products I have ever used; and that includes high-street, high-end and the dozen or more salon professional brands I have been trained in. Bumble and Bumble is my winning hair brand and their Hairdressers Invisible Oil does not let down. In fact, it is the best hair oil I have ever tried and I prefer it to all of my other hair oils. So OK, it's great. But why?

Lush The Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask

21 Nov 2012

A picture of Lush The Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask

I don't think there will ever be a time when I don't adore the fresh face masks from Lush. The fifth and most recent one I have tried is The Sacred Truth.

The Sacred Truth is advertised as being for those with slightly more mature skin to fight off the signs of aging. But I have really loved using this mask and seen the positive changes it makes to my skin - And I'm only 24! It contains ginseng and green tea which are great for their antioxidants effects and fresh wheatgrass which is a free radical scavenger. It has rich, softening ingredients such as linseed, eggs, evening primrose oil, shea butter, lanolin, coconut oil and honey which are all great for soothing and moisturising. It has the clays of kaolin and talc which help to clean the skin and fresh papaya which helps dissolve dead skin cells.

Lush BIG Sea Salt Shampoo

19 Nov 2012

A picture of Lush BIG Sea Salt Shampoo

BIG is a Lush product I have heard about over and over again in the blogosphere. It's a popular product, but one which never really appealed to me. Mainly because I have tried shampoos from Lush before, and I'm talking about ten years ago here, and they just really didn't work for my hair. And if you're anything like me you'll know that if you try a product from a brand and don't have a great experience with it, it can kind of put you off of trying the same kind of product from that same brand again. So despite all the hype and rave reviews of this somewhat cult product from Lush, I avoided it and didn't really give it a second thought. That was, until the Nottingham #bbloggers meetup.

Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Spray

A picture of Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Spray

I have finally jumped on the Macadamia band-wagon. Do I get an award? I mean, this is a brand which is pretty much the holy grail of holy grail brands for hair oils. Everywhere you look, people rave about them. Everywhere you look, people are lusting after them. And now I am one of those people. Oh yes, prepare yourselves. Because this is going to be a rave review.

Selfridges Beauty Workshop Lucky Bags

A picture of Selfridges Beauty Workshop Lucky Bags

Back in August Selfridges released a limited edition bespoke beauty box to celebrate the launch of their new beauty hall. I managed to get my hands on one of these boxes, which costing only £15, had a total worth of nearly £160. Quite possibly the best value for money I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. You can read my review of this limited edition bespoke beauty box and see everything I got in it, here.

I'm not sure how relevant this review will be as I know these were raved about over the summer, but I have only recently got my hands on them (I don't know why, I'm just very lazy and stingy sometimes!) but I have been really enjoying using them so I wanted to share my thoughts with you! As that's the point of this blog, right? To share things I like and love!

NEOM Scent With Love Travel Candle Giftset

16 Nov 2012

A picture of NEOM Scent With Love Travel Candle Giftset

There are quite a few high-end candles which are often talked about here on the blogosphere but the candles I hear the most about in the best way, is NEOM. NEOM candles are almost like a cult candle. Everyone who has them raves about them and says they are very much so worth the money (£39.50 for a full sized candle!) and that they are the best candles they have ever had. Those who don't have a NEOM candle lust after them, wanting to add at least one to their candle collection. £39.50 is a bit steep for a candle, and it's also a lot to pay for a candle if you haven't tried it before. How do you know it's really worth it? But NEOM have covered every thing with their travel candle set!

MAC Makeup Haul + Swatches

A picture of a MAC makeup haul

So at the beginning of October I went a bit... crazy. I splurged. Oh did I splurge. And something I probably spent the most on, was MAC.

It's no secret, I often say it here on my blog, but I love MAC lipsticks. For me, they are the best, and my favourite. It's for a lot of reasons really. I love the look of a MAC lipstick. The sleek bullet. The MAC logo. How simple yet beautiful they look. I love the textures and feel of MAC lipsticks. I love the sheer ridiculous amount of shades and finishes available. My favourite finishes are matte, and amplified.

If you read my review of the Clarins Limited Edition Odyssey Eye Quartet (which you can find here) you will know that Clarins is a brand I really respect. I think their makeup is special and certainly makes me feel as if I am using some of the best there is. These beautiful products are no different. I have been trying out two lipsticks and a mineral eye quartet. And let me just tell you now, I think this eye quartet is actually now my go-to quad for a smokey eye!

MUA Bronzed Perfection

14 Nov 2012

A picture of MUA Bronzed Perfection
Bronzers, bronzers, bronzers. I can't get enough of them! They are a must in my makeup routine and they are one of my all time favourite types of makeup. I have so many, but I am always adding to my collection because they are a product I use on a daily basis without fail. I never scold myself for buying a new bronzer. Bronzers are to me, the thing which completes any look I go for. They leave me confident, happy in my look and are just blooming lovely. Lovely, utterly lovely. So when I heard MUA were releasing a new bronzer, the Bronzed Perfection bronzer, I was so excited! I had tried a bronzer by MUA before and although I love their eye-shadows, I don't think MUA always hit the nail on the head because their other bronzing products did nothing at all for me and were chucked away after a couple of uses and being deemed useless. But this, this is different. This, is now my most used everyday bronzer!

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows

12 Nov 2012

A picture of L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows in 14 Eternal Black and 001 Time Resist White

I've spent quite a few months now lusting after the L'Oreal Infallible Eye-shadows, and they featured in my 100 Day Challenge updates and wish-lists quite often. But whenever I swatched them in Boots I always found them lacking in that wow factor that I often see raved and boasted about here on the blogosphere. So every time I have gone to pick a few up, I've stopped myself, telling myself they aren't worth it. But with Boots recent 3 for 2 offer, I suppose I just decided it was time to take the plunge. Products can be very different when on than when you swatch them on the back of your hand so I thought it was worth giving these a proper go. I picked up two, in shades 014 Eternal Black and 001 Time Resist White.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

10 Nov 2012

A picture of Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
It's all well and good having hair oils and products which make your hair feel wonderful, but I think it is just as important to use a shampoo and conditioner to get soft, strong hair too! So today I am going to share with you a favourite brand of mine for doing just that. Organix. I have reviewed one Organix product before and that was the Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil. It's a great high-street alternative to high-end hair oils and you can read my review of it here.

After trying the Inika Mineral Foundation Powder (read review here) I learnt that I actually quite like the idea of powder foundations. They were once a foundation I wouldn't go near as I didn't think they'd ever provide enough coverage. But I was wrong. And I am now happily branching out to more powder foundations. Step in the NATOrigin Loose Powder Foundation.

The Eyeshadow Primers | Urban Decay VS MUA

A picture of Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and MUA Professional Eye Primer
Eye-shadow primers. They are a pretty big must for anyone who wants long lasting eye-shadow. But there are so many out there that it can be quite hard to decide which one is for you. I have tried two by E.l.f and found them both lacking, but today I am going to sharing my thoughts with you, and comparing, the two primers I currently use. Both are at different ends of the scale; a low end eye-shadow primer from MUA and a high-end eye-shadow primer from Urban Decay.

Di Palomo Wild Fig & Grape Indulgent Bathing Experience

6 Nov 2012

A picture of Di Palomo Wild Fig & Grape Indulgent Bathing Experience
A couple of months ago I reviewed a beautifully scented perfume and dry body oil from Di Palomo from their Wild Fig & Grape range. You can read that review here, but basically I fell in love. The scents of this range are incredibly beautiful and made me feel content as they are scents which remind me of Cyprus. Today I am going to be sharing my thoughts with you on their Wild Fig & Grape Indulging Bathing Experience. A gift set containing four products, this would make the perfect Christmas present for a loved one this Christmas! And the best thing is, it's probably one of the cheapest, most reasonably priced gift sets of it's kind I've ever come across!

Now this is a review I am excited to share with you all. And that is for three reasons. The first being that this review is of two products from a brand I think is absolutely wonderful and deserves every last positive review, and more, that it gets. The second being that we all know I adore bronzers. And the third? Not only have I recently found my perfect mascara in the Burberry Volumising Lash Enhancer Mascara but I think, maybe, I think I have also found my perfect foundation?! Lets start with the bronzer.

Introducing Etat Pur Skincare

Ever since I got an Etat Pur product in one of my beauty boxes I've been quite intrigued by the brand. Everyone knows it by now - I love skincare. It's very important to me, I want to do whatever I can to look after my skin and I feel that doing something to protect and nourish my skin now will be better than paying the price later in life with bad skin. I've been trying out three products from Etat Pur. Two of them I like, one not so much. So what exactly have I been trying?

Antipodes Divine Face Oil Organic Avocado Oil & Rosehip

Back in August Selfridges released a limited edition bespoke beauty box (you can read my review of the box here!) I was one of the lucky few to snap one up before they sold out and the main reason I wanted the box, was this product. The Antipodes Organic Avocado Oil & Rosehip Divine Face Oil. I love Antipodes, there's no denying it. Their packaging is gorgeous, their ethics are right up my street and all of the products I have tried from them so far have surpassed all of my expectations. Over the past two months this product has become my absolute skin saviour and I genuinely could not imagine not having it. Apart from when testing out other serums or treatments, I have applied this every single morning and night for the past two months. And on those days when I don't use it, I really see a difference in my skin - and not in a positive way.

Neve Elegantissimi Eyeshadow Palette

A picture of the Neve Elegantissimi Eyeshadow Palette
When this arrived, I was pretty shocked. It's one heck of a huge palette and I wasn't quite expecting that! It is roughly the same size of my infamous eBay blush palette (see review here!) so it's pretty darn big. It doesn't fit in my usual makeup storage, and instead sits on top of one of my acrylic makeup drawers. But, that is literally were the cons stop. I am so, so pleasantly surprised by this new to the UK brand.

One of the products in the Limited Edition Bespoke Selfridges Beauty Box was the Stila One Step Correct (you can read my review of the Selfridges beauty box here!) It was one of the products I most wanted in the box. I'd seen it a lot at the time and I guess like anyone, I was really captivated by design and look of the product. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. It's definitely entrancing! So what does this almost Alice-in-Wonderland type product do exactly?
