Over the past two weeks I have been using the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner! As a brunette, products tailored towards my hair colour are great and something which really grab my attention because I want to do whatever I can to benefit my natural, brunette hair colour!

The shampoo is the Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Illuminating Shampoo* with crystalline complex. It cleanses while it drenches your hair with pure shine for a high-gloss finish. Formulated with an exclusive crystalline complex, Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Illuminating Shampoo penetrates damaged areas within the hair while it polishes the exterior of each strand to optimise the reflection of light and create a crystal clear shine.

This shampoo is very thin and liquid based. This is how I prefer my shampoos, opposed to the more thicker shampoo products you can find, as it is better for my fine hair! I find this shampoo really easy to use. It foams up nicely (to me, a good shampoo is one which foams up well!), it doesn't tangle any of my hair during the shampooing process and it smells lovely!

The conditioner, I have to admit, is my favourite of the pair. Conditioners are really important to me because it's important I use one which softens, strengthen and repairs my hair without leaving it feeling greasy. The conditioner from this range is the Brilliant Brunette Multi-Tone Revealing Moisturising Conditioner*. The moisturising formula with crushed pearls and sweet almond oil re-hydrates as it brings out rich, multi-dimensional brunette tones and adds shine. It replenishes dry hair for a satin like feel.

With a slightly thicker consistency than the shampoo, but not so thick it is difficult to use, this conditioner is perfect. For starters, it smells divine. You can really smell the almond oil in it and it just smells so lovely! It glides through my hair easily and it leaves my hair very soft, very nourished and very naturally shiny. I love it!

This Brilliant Brunette pair are advertised as being suitable for every day use, and for me, that has been a must. My hair is very naturally oily and with both of these working towards healthier, smoother, softer and moisturised hair, it means I have no choice but to wash my hair everyday, otherwise I find it has gone excessively oily. I really like them though, for the way they leave my hair smelling and feeling so lovely. And I'd love to try the Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser, as I really struggle with stray hairs and frizzy hair, so it sounds like it'd be perfect!

  1. I've really wanted to try these for ages, I love being a brunette x

  2. These look great! I may have to give them a try when I'm next in need of Shampoo / Conditioner. I'm thinking of going back to a dark brown colour soon. I have the same issue with my hair, I hate having to wash it every day, but I can't just leave it as it looks too oily by the second day.

  3. I've been wanting to try these ones, and I think I definitely will now! It sounds like we have VERY similar hair! Mine is oily to the extreme like that, meaning practically every day shampooing :( which can be a hassle sometimes.
I'm going to buy these when I'm off my spending ban! :)

  4. I use the shampoo along with coolaulin from LUSH ( but because I'm gross I only wash my hair every 2nd or 3rd shower). I love it, although reckon it'd work way better if I picked up the conditioner too! I used to use the red ones when I was red and they were pretty good too :) xoxo

  5. These sounds great! Too bad I don't have bronw hair anymore :( I'll go back someday, but for now I'm really enjoying my black & pink hair :)

  6. @Hayley Me too! I don't think any other colour would suit me! xo

  7. @Megan Jane Washing my hair every day is the bane of my life!! xo

  8. @two grazed knees I always think sets like these need to be used together, personally :) xo

  9. @aly7 There's nothing wrong with black and pink! :) xo
