For the past couple of weeks, everywhere you look, beauty bloggers World over are raving about the new Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butters! And so, they started to appeal to me. I've not read one negative review, every one seems to be in love with these lip butters! So I recently bought two, Tutti Fruitti and Lollipop. I've only used Tutti Frutti so far so I am reviewing this one now, but will review Lollipop at a later date!

Available in 14 shades, Revlon Lip Butter's come in a sleek and fancy packaging with is eye catching in itself. Advertised as giving you soft lips and irresistible colour in one! "Buttery balm with beautiful shiny colour to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips. 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated." Some extra information from the official Revlon website;
  • Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
  • Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
  • Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine

And they certainly seem to be a hit, with many UK stores selling out during the launch of these new marvels on the make up scene!

But what do I think of them?

Well as I said, I've actually purchased two of these lip butters in shades Tutti Fruitti and Lollipop. I am yet to use Lollipop but I have used Tutti Fruitti for three or four days in a row now. And I just seem to be stuck in my opinions over this product.

There's no denying these lip butters look good. I love the packaging particularly as each shade's packaging is as close to the shade itself as possible, instead of a standard outter casing colour used for all. It looks good, it feels good and the colours are wonderful. But, it takes me several applications to get the colour to really stand out on my lips. When it does, it looks great and I am in love with that moment; where the colour is vibrant and it finishes off my face perfectly. But the biggest quarrel I have with this product, or shade in particular?

It just has no staying power. As soon as you drink, eat, smoke, kiss, do anything at all with your lips, it virtually disappears. Yes my lips are still left feeling soft and smooth but the colour just disappears!

I'm really hoping that the Lollipop shade is a different matter altogether and I'm going to give that a go over the next week, and although I love this shade, for a product with costs £7.99 I would expect better staying power from it and in this shade at least, I won't be repurchasing!
