Little Live Pets Cuddles My Dream Kitten Review

Like most toddlers, Willow adores animals and seems to particularly love the usual childhood favourites; cats and dogs. We rent, rather than owning our own home, and so having a pet is a big no-no, no matter how much we'd love to have a little kitten or puppy that Willow can grow up with (maybe one day!). A lovely alternative, particularly for her age, is the Little Live Pets range, which includes everything from kittens and puppies to hedgehogs, turtles and little birds. Let me introduce, Suzy - the Little Live Pets Snuggles My Dream Kitten.

With a look of a Persian kitten, Suzy (which is the name we've chosen for our new addition!) is a super-fluffy white kitten that moves and acts just like a real kitten would, purring when stroked, lapping up milk from her little blue bowl and the perfect size for a toddler that loves cuddling everything she gets her hands on.

She can nuzzle and twirl her tail, her eyes open and close and moves and responds to touch like a real kitten would. You can help her drink from her bowl, scratch her cheek, she makes sleepy noises when ready for a cat-nap (see what I did there?) and with a thoughtful design, can also be held or sat or laid down in different positions. Overall, she has 6 different play modes and 20 kitten sounds - making it quite the interactive little kitten that's perfect for keeping your little one entertained!

Suzy has been a perfect addition to our family - Willow takes great care in making sure she feeds (and regularly, too!), even though she hasn't quite realised that Suzy can go to the bowl, rather than the bowl coming to Suzy! She absolutely adores showing her affection by giving her lots of cuddles and she even brushes her lovely fluffy coat for her. It's lovely to see Willow engaging with imaginative play and also showing such a sweet little nurturing side. She loved helping to choose Suzy's name, although she was a touch eager with the Adoption Certificate, which ended up smudged - but check out this fab review from Run Jump Scrap to see one of the certificates in action.

Playing with Suzy is very easy for Willow, as it doesn't have any fancy control pad or complicated technical features. She simply turns her on, using the easy slide-buttons on her paw, and off she goes. It hasn't taken her long at all to work out what will get a reaction out of Suzy and it's so sweet watching Willow keep Suzy by her side throughout the day. She's 'OUR CAT!' as Willow keeps telling us - I think she's absolutely smitten! She can make noises when Willow isn't interacting her, her way of telling Willow she needs some tender loving care, but responds well to the attention Willow will give her and I am pretty sure I heard Suzy say "I love you!" after a cuddle yesterday!!

What I think my favourite aspect of the Little Live Pets Cuddles My Dream Kitten is, is the calming aspect; animal therapy shows that spending time with or stroking animals such as cats and dogs can reduce stress. I learned this first hand recently when visiting family in the hospital and getting to meet the ward therapy dog; you could see the change in the patients almost instantaneously once they interacted with the sweet dog on the ward. For me, this is a really fantastic aspect to have in a toy, especially for toddlers and young children who are developing and learning how to be compassionate, kind and responsible.
