Bill's Restaurant Highcross Leicester Review

Last weekend I shared our recent family day out at Highcross Leicester, where we had a lovely day exploring the shops, checking out the brand new Toys R Us store and visiting Bill's Restaurant. I wanted to share a full review of our visit to Bill's with you, as we were just so impressed with the full experience from the food to the venue and the wonderful team there. If you're local to Leicester or visiting soon, you must make a visit to Bill's - you won't be disappointed!

Mummy groups aren't for me

I'm one of those awkward people who is difficult to become friends with. I've always been this way, throughout my entire education from primary school through to University, in jobs and workplaces; I'm just not the most approachable person. I have a small number of friends who I value tremendously, but having had some very turbulent friendships in the past and always being the friend that gets let down, I find it hard to let people come into my life.

When I found out I was pregnant and had a million leaflets thrust at me by health professionals about antenatal classes and baby groups, I panicked. Did I have to go to these groups and make mummy friends? Because I'll be honest, mummy groups really aren't for me.

Smith & Cult Makeup Review

Over the past couple of years, Smith & Cult have become a bit of a cult brand when it comes to nail lacquers. They've been featured by all the best beauty bloggers and hailed as some of the best out there in the beauty world - and I have to agree, I adore my Smith & Cult polishes, but it's their makeup I love more. Didn't know Smith & Cult do makeup too? It's a pretty new range, but don't worry, because I'm going to give you the lowdown on eyes and lips today and these are definitely products worth adding to your beauty wishlist!

Cosatto Hug ISOFIX Car Seat Review

When we bought our Cosatto Giggle 2 Travel System, it came with a free car seat, so we were all set and ready to go, whether it was days out with the pram, or on adventures in the car. Now that Willow is well into toddlerhood, it was time to move her up to a bigger car seat and we are thrilled with our decision to go for the Cosatto Hug ISOFIX Car Seat.

It's no secret we are big fans of Cosatto in the Tattooed Tealady house, loving everything from their travel systems and strollers to highchairs and now, we are just as in love with our Hug ISOFIX. This car seat has exceeded my expectations and today I'm going to share all the best bits with you!

June Beauty Favourites 2017

Despite a few flashes of rain, June has been a gorgeous month. Sunshine, lots of days out and gorgeous weather, soaking up some Vitamin D and feeling better for it too. This month I've found myself changing the shades I go for when doing my makeup, reaching for lighter summer scents and spending more time concentrating on eyes when getting ready for a day out.

Family day out at Highcross Leicester

Living in Leicestershire, it’s super easy for us to head into Leicester City Centre when we want to go out for a meal or a day of shopping. Having lived right in the centre for many years in my childhood, I know the centre quite well and it’s been lovely to see the renovations take place over recent years, transforming the once small Shires Shopping Centre into the magnificent Highcross Shopping Centre we have now; an enourmous shopping centre designed with a modern and fresh look, celebrating the best brands in the UK, all in one place.

Ohh Deer Papergang Subscription Review

It's no secret I am a huge stationery fan, completely besotted with planners and diaries, loving everything from notebooks to stickers, so when I came across the Ohh Deer Papergang Subscription, I couldn't resist signing up and seeing what they had to offer! I subscribed back in mARCH, so I've had three boxes so far and I thought it'd be good to go through with you what each box included, whether I think it's worth subscribing to and of course, whether I plan to keep subscribed to Papergang myself.

5 Things Nobody Told Me About Motherhood

When you announce that you're pregnant, everyone seems to become an expert on babies and being a parent and they have all the top secrets, tips and tricks. You read all the books, go to antenatal classes and everyone you meet gives you (mostly, unsolicited) advice. You're warned about nappy explosions, sleepless nights and tantrums, but there's more than a few things I wasn't told before becoming a Mother too.

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion Review

Back in January I shared a feature on my 'Lush haul perfect for winter pampering', which included Sleepy Body Lotion, at the time a limited edition product for the Christmas collection. I'm thrilled to share the news that Lush have now made Sleepy Body Lotion a permanent addition to their range, so any of you who missed out the first time around, you can now pick it up both online and in your local Lush store!

MAC Lipstick Collection 2017

I am a self-confessed lip product addict. For me, lips stand with eyes as the easiest way to make a look POP! and I love how confident I feel just by applying a swipe of lipstick. MAC has always been my favourite brand when it comes to lipsticks and over the years I have spent a small fortune building up a collection of my favourite shades and go-to finishes. It's been a couple of years since I shared a MAC lipstick collection, and since it's grown quite a bit since my last MAC Lipstick Collection post in 2013, I decided it was time to share another!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection Review

Over the past couple of years, Too Faced have shot up as one of my favourite beauty brands when it comes to eyeshadows. I find the quality easily equals the likes of Urban Decay, and their palettes have no problems standing out from the crowd with unique designs and gorgeous shade combinations that are just lovely to work with. The new Sweet Peach Collection is one of the most fun makeup collections I've seen and I couldn't wait to try some of the key pieces from the range, which altogether includes an eyeshadow palette, lip glosses, highlighting palette and blushes.

Inika Peachy Keen Mineral Blush Review

When it comes to cruelty-free beauty brands, INIKA is up there at the top for me. Their products have impressed me for years and I'm a big fan of the INIKA Mineral Foundation Powder, INIKA Liquid Mineral Foundation and the gorgeous INIKA Mineral Eyeshadow range. I've recently started using the INIKA Mineral Blush in Peachy Keen, and I'm just as impressed as I have been with other products from the range.

Birchbox UK June 2017 Review

Over the past year or so I've found myself falling out of love with monthly beauty boxes. They just didn't excite me anymore and although there's a good product every now and then, most of the products just didn't suit my tastes anymore. When the June Birchbox UK landed on my doorstep, that excitement I'd been missing with beauty boxes came back in full force - with a gorgeous design for this month's Birch-'bag' and some pretty impressive products, I think the June Birchbox might just have rekindled my love for subscription boxes!

Motherhood has made me a better person

When I look back at my character in my teens and early twenties, I don't always like the person I see. I think, like many people at that age, I was a bit full on and this extended not only to my general personality and demeanour but my opinions, how I presented myself and how I would interact with other people. I wasn't a horrible person back then, but I certainly had a lot of growing up to do and throughout my years back in education in my early twenties, completing my A Levels and getting my Psychology degree, I definitely matured and took more responsibility as an adult. I thought the changes, the literal growing up I did, was a lot - but it's nothing compared to the way in which Motherhood has changed me as a person.

Family Friendly Ego Restaurant West Bridgford Review

When you have a toddler, going out for meals as a family can be quite the task. You need to find somewhere that is family friendly, all whilst having delicious food that all the family can enjoy. We were recently invited to Ego Restuarant in West Bridgford, Nottingham, and I'm happy to say this is exactly the kind of venue you want to find as a family, somewhere so family-friendly in fact, that they fully cater to little ones and even provide something very special on Sunday's to keep all the family happy.

Akti Beach Village Resort Cyprus Review

Over Easter, we headed to Cyprus for a week for our first ever family holiday. As a Cypriot myself, Cyprus is always my first choice when it comes to holidays and it was incredibly special to me, to be able to share my home Country with my daughter. We stayed at Akti Beach Village Resort, which is situated in Paphos and very close to all the hustle and bustle of the harbour and Paphos town centre.

5 Things I Would Do Differently If I Have Another Baby

I'll let you into a little secret; when I was pregnant with Willow, my partner and I discussed having another baby and both decided we would try almost immediately once Willow was born. We wanted to have 'all the children in one go', so that they'd start school at roughly the same age and I would be able to go back to work full time or even complete my Masters and PhD, without worrying about nurseries and childcare. As luck would have it, the difficulties I faced post-caesarean soon put a stop to that idea and if I'm honest, I'm glad.

I've treasured having this time with Willow, watching her develop, learn, grow - blossom in fact, into this beautiful little girl who is wild at heart. I'm glad she is, for the moment, our only child, because you never get to experience your first a second time and I want to soak up everything with her. I know I wouldn't have been able to give her everything she deserves in these important early years; my time, my full attention, if we'd had another baby straight away, but that doesn't mean we don't plan to have more when we're ready.
