Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist

A picture of Pixi by Petra Hydrating Milky Mist
The winter weather has taken it's toll on my skin and with a newborn, I've had less time than I'd like to keep on top of my skincare routine. My skin is definitely showing the effects of less love and over the past month I've made a conscious effort to get back into a proper routine, no matter how tired I am. It took a couple of weeks for the benefits of a regular routine to get my skin back into the happy and healthy condition I am used to and part of that is down to a use skin-nourishing toning mist that I am more than a little bit smitten with.

Long-lasting Lip Liners by Gwen Stefani

A picture of Urban Decay Gwen Stefani 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils
Regular readers will know by now that I love Urban Decay and I love Gwen Stefani. I've recently been sharing the limited edition collection which features everything you need to cover eyes, lips and cheeks, and today I'll be delving into the Gwen Stefani 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencils. I decided to share these separately to my Gwen Stefani Lipsticks review, because it's my first time trying lip liners from Urban Decay, and I really think they deserve the spotlight all to themselves!

Mamas & Papas Alice in Wonderland Collection

A picture of Mamas & Papas Disney Alice in Wonderland Collection
I hold my hands up and admit that one of the things I enjoy doing the most, is putting Willow in gorgeous little outfits. I mentioned in our two month update that now she is in 0-3 size clothes and can actually fit into proper outfits, it's so much nicer than just having her in her sleepsuits day and night! She looks like a proper little lady now and I love making her look smart and even prettier than she already is.

Team that with my love for Alice in Wonderland, and the Mamas & Papas Disney Collection was always going to be a winner for Willow. A classic Disney story that I grew up with and one I hope my daughter will love just as much, we've been having fun trying out some outfits from the collection, which we're very excited to share with you all today!

March Favourites 2016

The best beauty products of March 2016
March has been a very simple month for me beauty wise. Having had a few more issues recovery wise, I've just not been all that fussed in wearing makeup or doing my hair. In fact, I've just wanted to make sure my skin is in tip-top condition and that I look decent enough to face people, and that's been enough. Yet the products I have been using have perfectly ticked all my boxes. Conditioning, soothing, plumping, soft hues and natural finishes. I'm pretty smitten with my March favourites!

When Two Months Have Passed

60 days. 8 1/2 weeks. Two months. Time is going by so quickly, my little newborn is growing up so fast, no longer a newborn but now a little baby, a baby that is changing and developing every single day. Everyone says they don't stay small forever, that time will go quicker than you realise, but I never thought it'd be this quickly!

And yet with each new day, everyday that she grows another 24 hours older, the way she develops and the little milestones she reaches melt my heart. I'm utterly in love, absolutely besotted; I have a two month old that has stolen my heart.

LOC by Birchbox

A picture of Birchbox LOC Love of Colour
When I heard the news that Birchbox were releasing their own beauty brand, I was more than a little bit excited. When you have such a successful subscription service such as Birchbox, which has worked with some of the worlds most loved brands and constantly introduces subscribers to new and exciting products, you can expect them to have picked up their own tips and tricks along the way. All that time trialing and testing products, getting to know the people behind the brands and selecting only the best of the best to feature in their monthly boxes, there's a whole depth of knowledge they've picked up along the way which would make creating their own brand an instant hit.

Prime and Perfect with Inika

A picture of Inika Certified Truly Organic Pure Primer and Inika Certified Truly Organic Liquid Foundation

Back when I began writing Tattooed Tealady in 2012, Inika was one of the first brands I started sharing reviews of - rave reviews at that - having been introduced to them through beauty boxes, which they used to feature quite regularly in. Four years down the line they are still one of my favourite cruelty free brands for makeup and a brand I am still raving about to this day.

Being a huge fan of the Inika Mineral Foundation Powder, I was really excited to try out more base products from the brand in the form of the Inika Truly Organic Pure Primer and the Truly Organic Liquid Mineral Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid. Would I love this base combo as much as my beloved mineral powder?

Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine Review

A picture of Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine

If you are a regular reader of Tattooed Tealady and caught my recent post sharing my breastfeeding experience, you will know that although I had hoped and planned to exclusively breastfeed with Willow, we have faced some extreme difficulties and I had to introduce formula very early on. I am hugely pro-breastfeeding, but I have always said 'fed is best' and from my own personal experience now, I understand and appreciate that even more.

As well as sharing breastfeeding content here on Tattooed Tealady, I will also be sharing some formula-feeding related posts. I will always shout from the rooftops my support for breastfeeding, breastfeeding mums and the benefits that breastfeeding gives - but formula is part of our routine too, it has been a life-saving product for us and there are products and brands which I feel deserve a lot of praise, having become absolutely invaluable to us on an everyday basis. The first of those products is the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine.

The benefits of babywearing

A picture of We Made Me Baby Carriers

It seems like babywearing has exploded in the media over the past year, almost becoming the next big 'thing' that everyone should do with their babies - except babywearing is certainly not the new fad it's being made out to be, and there's more than meets the eye when it comes to the benefits of babywearing. To the outsider it may just look like a 'hands-free' way to carry your baby around with you, but mentally, psychologically and emotionally, babywearing is so much more than that.

8 Life Lessons

So far all my baby themed posts, both during and post-pregnancy, have been written by myself on my own experiences about my own journey on becoming a first time mama. Today I wanted to share a post with you all from another blogger, and also a close friend of mine, Megan. Megan writes over at Seek my Scribbles and is also a first time mama, to her beautiful little boy Arthur. Today Megan is sharing a post with you all on 8 life lessons she hopes to teach Arthur. I hope you'll enjoy the read, and a different perspective from a new mama about her baby boy.

The Gwen Stefani Blush Palette

When one of your favourite brands collaborates with one of your favourite artists, it's hard not to get over excited. When Urban Decay released the Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette back in 2015, the whole beauty world exploded with excitement. I shared my full review back in December and I can't help but love the beautiful array of shades included in the palette, but it's the latest Gwen collection releases which have me the most excited, especially the stunning new blush palette featuring 6 stunning powders perfect for any season, wearable on a huge array of complexions.

My Breastfeeding Journey

A few weeks ago when I posted Willow's one month update, I shared that my breastfeeding journey so far hadn't gone quite to plan and I have really struggled to breastfeed Willow, who is currently being combination fed with formula.

Over the coming weeks and months I am going to be sharing a few posts about our breastfeeding journey, what has and hasn't worked for us, the services, communities and organisations which I have turned to for help as well as products and devices which can help if you are struggling to exclusively breastfeed.

Today I wanted to start things off by sharing my breastfeeding experience, from someone who had the aim of exclusively breastfeeding for one year and who never realised how hard to achieve that would actually be.

The All Time Favourites

A picture of Dean Koontz Odd Thomas

‘Favourites’ posts are a pretty common thing in blogland. Lipsticks you’re loving, shoes you’re smiling about and magical mascaras. However I find, as I imagine anyone reading does, in the life of most of us something is probably our forever fave for all of about 8 days, at which point a new nail shade, riveting read or food craze comes along to get obsessive over.

Control Your Online Experience

Almost 17 years, that's how long I've been using the Internet. Of course things have drastically changed from my days of sitting in a Year 7 IT class trying to work out how to use Google to do my homework. It's safe to say the way we use the Internet now is a whole world apart from those first few years when the World Wide Web was made more easily accessible to your general person.

Social media is even younger, yet quite possibly the fastest growing - and most popular - form of using the Internet. No matter how old you are, what social class you are from, where in the world you live, most people use social media, and for most people, it's something they use daily. I know I for one use social media every single day without fail and I'm not afraid to admit I'm more than a little bit addicted to social media.

NYR Frankincense Intense Eye Cream

A picture of Neal's Yard Remedies Frankincense Intense Eye Cream
For a good couple of years I stuck with the same eye cream for my night time skincare routine, my ever faithful Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye. I never thought I'd find another eye cream I love as much for giving my skin some TLC overnight, when our bodies work hardest to repair and protect, that was until I tried the very budget-friendly and vegan friendly White Rabbit Skincare Eye Cream, easily the loveliest eye cream I have ever tried for the price and one I couldn't be without now. Having found the perfect alternative as a night time eye cream, I started my hunt for the perfect eye cream for my morning routine, in the hopes of creating the perfect eye care duo. Introducing Neal's Yard Remedies Frankincense Intense Eye Cream.

The Staple Nail Shades

A picture of nail polishes
If you've read my blog you'll know I'm a big nail polish fan. It's something that features heavily on Cherry Pie, especially the more budget polishes, so I thought I'd put together a post about the staple nail shades I think everyone needs in their collection. As much as I love nail polishes I do seem to have a very excessive collection, which I need to cut down; if you do too then hopefully this will help you out!

NEOM Scent to Sleep

A picture of NEOM Tranquillity 3 Wick Scented Candle
Sleep. Oh glorious sleep. I've always been a big fan of sleep, taking naps whenever I can and always enjoying a super long lie in. Isn't it funny how it's the things we take for granted that we end up missing the most? Take my University days for example. Boy did I take advantage of endless sleep, staying up all night and sleeping all day, sometimes even dozing in lectures (because who goes to lectures to actually learn, right?). I took advantage of sleep when I was pregnant, too, which was hard to resist when my body was screaming out for naps and tiredness would become so overwhelming I could have very easily slept standing up at times.

5 Things I've Learnt About Newborns

Back when I was pregnant I shared a post on 20 things no one tells you about getting pregnant and it went down so well with regular readers of Tattooed Tealady, that I thought I'd share with you 5 things I've learnt about newborns.

Willow is 5 weeks old today so I've had just over a month to get used to life as a new mama and get to grips with looking after this tiny human being and giving her all of my attention and love. It's a pretty wonderful thing being a mama, but it is also completely unlike anything I expected or how anyone told me it would be.
