Sunny days are rare in the UK so when the sun does decide to shine and the temperature matches how gloriously bright it is, I have to get outside and soak it all up. Spring time this year is much simpler for me than years gone by. I used to cover myself in all the spring pastels, trying to perfect that classic spring look. Now I have a baby I simply don't have the time, and so instead I reach for the essentials, the products that'll make getting ready easy whilst still making me feel and look good.
I have all my essentials tucked into my gorgeous Orla Kiely Sunset Flora Cosmetic Bag (£20), easy to grab and great for knowing where all my essentials are without having to rummage around. I usually keep it on my dressing table, then tuck it in the changing bag when we head out, in case I need to top up on-the-go.

From first try I have been besotted with the Bagsy Ray of Sunshine Perfect Glow Bronzing Powder (£13.50), which is just the most lovely bronze for an overall glow. It's subtle, very easy to work with and so can be applied with more intensity for a subtle contour if desired, without looking muddy or streaky.
Available at www.feelunique.com in two shades.
For blush there's nothing I love more than the subtle flush of colour my Milani Luminoso Baked Blush, which you can pick up on www.amazon.co.uk for just £4.49 with free delivery. This is a very popular baked blusher in the beauty world and it's easy to see why; the most beautifully subtle blush with a flattering sheen that works so well on all complexions.
For eyes I have been lovely a soft wash of colour with a good mascara and soft liquid liner to finish. My current shadow of choice which works beautifully alone but can also be teamed with other shadows, is my beloved MAC Naked Pigment (£14.40). A soft beige nude with the most subtle fine shimmer, it's a great shade for just popping on when you don't have time to do a full eye look.
Available in-store and online at www.debenhams.com.
I've been going super subtle with lips over the past few months, as lipstick really doesn't work when you have a baby that you kiss all day long! I've found the limited edition Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint (£25) to be the perfect choice; a light-weight and ultra-moisturising balm that gives the most subtle sheer touch of pink. Most importantly, it doesn't transfer to Willow's chubby cheeks when I kiss her!

Any new mama will know that dry shampoo is an absolute life-saver. on days when washing your hair is less likely than winning the lottery, dry shampoo can save the day and make you look presentable and put together. I've always struggled with dry shampoos, finding they irritate my scalp which can sometimes be ridden with eczema and is extremely sensitive, but COLAB is one of the few which I get on well with. The new COLAB Active Dry Shampoo (£3.99) is great for those who lead active lifestyles, but also fab for busy mamas like me who need a little help in-between washes.
Available at www.superdrug.com.
I like to keep scents light in spring and recently I've rekindled my love for my Jo Malone Earl Grey & Cucumber (£42) which is the perfect soft scent for a spring day. More on the refreshing side of scents compared to some of the sweeter scents in my fragrance library, it's a lovely go-to for day to day wear.
Available at www.johnlewis.com.
Of course, what would my spring time essentials be without some sunglasses to finish everything off? I adore Ray-Ban's and my new Ray-Ban Jackie Ohh Sunglasses (£105) are absolutely perfect. I've never been one for slim glasses, preferring big, stand-out styles - and these fit the bill perfectly! They keep the sun out of my eyes whilst making me feel a bit glam, which is always lovely as a new mama who doesn't have much time to put a look together.
