Lush Salted Coconut Hand Scrub

Although I love indulging in a pampering body scrub and I apply hand creams religiously, I've never really been all that fussed about having a specific scrub for my hands. Considering our hands are one of the first places to show the signs of ageing and are very easily battered and worn by changes in temperature and weather, water and washing and everything else in between, they definitely deserve more TLC than I give them.

Of course as a self confessed Lush addict, when I saw they had a new product, Salted Coconut Hand Scrub, I knew I had to give it a try - could this finally be the scrub that makes me give my hands some more care, especially through these cold winter months?

Salted Coconut Hand Scrub comes in a 130g tub costing £7.95. This might sound like a lot for a hand scrub but the sheer nature of this product and how little you actually need per use means that the 130g is set to last you a fair while; I've been using mine around 3 months now at least once a week and I am only just nearing the end. Cruelty free like all Lush products, Salted Coconut also lands itself in the vegan friendly pile, so great for those of you who are vegan and conscious of the products you use.

As you can guess from the name, the star ingredient in this scrub is Extra Virgin Coconut Oil which is a deeply moisturising and softening ingredient which is a lovely way to pamper and preen your skin. Team that with Fine Sea Salt which works to gently and effectively smooth skin, removing dead skin cells without causing irritation or sensitivity, alongside its ability to cleanse and treat skin with it's naturally restorative minerals, and you have a pretty dreamy scrub on your hands. There's also a dash of Argan Oil which adds another moisturising aspect as well as being a repairing and antioxidant ingredient, plus a nice helping of fresh Lemon which adds a lovely uplifting touch to the sweet scent of Salted Coconut.

You'd use it as you would any other scrub, just specifically for your hands - although I have tried it once for my feet and found it just as lovely for my tootsies as it is for my hands! I use around a 20p size amount of product for both hands which is more than enough, and unlike other hand scrubs I've tried, it doesn't leave my hands sticky or oily after use. Follow up with a hydrating hand cream and you're left with silky soft hands that look and feel 10 times better than before. Another must-try Lush product.

  6. I get very dry, rough hands in winter and I use this product a lot; it's great. As well as being great for dry, flaky hands, this scrub is also brilliant at getting hands clean after things like gardening, painting, DIY etc when an ordinary handwash just doesn't cut it.

  7. I got it for sample from Lush last month and never try it yet because I thought that I already have a body scrub, why would I need a scrub for my hands? But after read this post, it changed my mind 360 degree and make me want to try it this night. Thank you for this post xo
