Schwarzkopf got2b

It's not very often I share hair care products here on Tattooed Tealady, which as an ex-hair stylist is a bit ironic! I'll be honest, hair products don't overly excite me and once I find a product range or brand that works well for me, it takes a lot to get me to move onto something else. Plus, styling products have a habit of lasting forever, especially if like me you can get away with using as little products on your hair as possible. A range which has caught my attention over the past few months though is the Schwarzkopf got2b range, a high-street take on cult hair care products and ideas which have dominated the beauty scene over recent years. Can a budget brand really compete with the high-end favourites that do the job so well?

The got2b range actually features several different ranges within it, each featuring a couple of products that has a specific aim whether that be in the way it works with your hair in a long-term beneficial way or whether it's to create a specific way of styling your hair. I've been giving a few products a try from the Oil-licious and the beach matt ranges.

Schwarzkopf got2b Oil-licious weightless DRY OIL MIST (£4.05)
I love using oil to tame and treat my hair, but this is the first oil I've tried which comes in the format of a dry oil mist. Working to add shine to your locks whilst taming flyaway hairs, it's light enough in formula that it's suitable for use on all hair types, including fine hair. As with any spray it's very easy to apply too much so it's better to go easy with this one, particularly as it's an oil based product, ensuring to apply evenly throughout your hair. Application is best on dry hair with this one, especially great for in-between those visits to the salon and making the ends of your hair look healthier and neater.

Schwarzkopf got2b Oil-licious tame & shine STYLING OIL (£4.05)
I like to use hair oils quite often, not only after washing my hair before letting it dry naturally, as well as once dried to tame flyaway hairs and add shine, but I also find it a fabulous product to add to your conditioner as a 'DIY' at-home hair mask. That said, having tried many hair oils over the years, it's always difficult to find a budget option that does the job without wearing down my fine hair or packed full of filler ingredients which do nothing but leave my hair looking greasy within an hour. This purse-friendly option from Schwarzkopf, if applied lightly, turns out to be quiet the budget hero when it comes to hair oils, being a wonderful addition to any hair care routine that needs a bit of extra TLC. It's not the lightest of oils formula wise, so less is more, but it does the job well and even manages to work well with my naturally fine locks!

Schwarzkopf got2b beach matt surfer look MATT PASTE (£4.05)
This one took me a while to get motivated enough to use. Rewind time 10 years and I have incredibly short choppy layers and a choppy fringe that would have loved a paste like this, but now my hair is pretty bog standard. The layers I do have are long and subtle, my hairs shoulder length and cut to make everyday wear as quick and easy as possible. I have very little use for a matt paste of this nature, but I was determined to give it a go nonetheless. In the end I started using it lightly on the few layers I do have, as well as manipulating the ends of my hair to give my style a touch of texture and shape. It has great hold and applied through dry hair it's very easy to work with; that said it would be a much better product for shorter, choppier hair, particularly great for guys. Not my favourite product from the range, but fun to play around with.

Schwarzkopf got2b beach matt mermaid look TEXTURIZING SALT SPRAY (£4.19)
This one I love, easily my favourite Schwarzkopf product yet and one I am pretty darn addicted to. Created to give hair that beach look many brands have cottoned on to over recent years, it has a salt infused formula which helps to give hair texture, a touch of volume and a tousled finish. I love applying this to both wet and dry hair; applied to wet hair before styling gives it the most oomph, but it's also fantastic as a budget texturising spray when used on dry hair. Fabulous product!

For a budget range I'm very impressed and will definitely be keeping an eye on future Schwarzkopf releases. It's great to see budget-friendly brands creating products that are on-trend whilst actually managing to achieve the look your aiming for.

The got2b range is available in-store and online at www.superdrug.com.

    1. Have you tried using an oil in with your conditioner to help combat the dryness? Also, water, water, water! It's not just your skin that benefits when you keep up the water intake :) I'll add that one to my list to check out, thanks Pam! xo
