One type of bubble bar in particular that I've never been swayed by though, is the bubble bar wands. Stars, moustaches, flamingos, I've always steered clear of them because they seem to be a bit of a fuss to use. You have to find somewhere for them to dry after each use and they don't simply crumble by hand for you to pop under running water like the usual bubble bars which I am so used to using. The wands are meant to be held under running water or swished through your bath water, for them to create bubbles.
When Lush expanded their Oxford Street range to stores nationwide as well as online, Pink Flamingo Reusable Bubble Bar (£5.95) was one of the products which was once exclusive to Oxford Street, but can now be picked up in your local Lush store. A bright pink bubble bar in the shape of a Flamingo, it features a fruity scent and works to uplift your mood whilst softening skin. There's refreshing Bergamot and heady Ylang Ylang which gives the scent a floral touch, alongside Rosewood Oil which has both antiseptic and antibacterial properties as well as being uplifting, with softening Macadamia Nut Oil and nourishing Cocoa Butter.
My first try of a reusable bubble bar, I put off using it for a good couple of weeks when it arrived with an unexpected Lush delivery. Deciding it had been staring at me for far too long, waiting for me to pluck up the courage to use it, I decided to give it a try it one weekend when a bubble bath was calling my name. I held it under running water and watched as it made my bath water turn a lovely dolly pink, with bubbles rising out of the water. The scent this pink bubble bar has is absolutely lovely and for me it makes the perfect scent for a morning bath when you want to relax but don't want to be left feeling sleepy afterwards. It created just as many bubbles as the usual bubble bars I use from Lush, and popped on our windowsill on a piece of cling film, it dried pretty quickly, ready for me to pop away for next time.
You could probably get around 4 or 5 uses out of Pink Flamingo, which is a touch pricer than the normal bubble bars in the Lush range, one I think would make a lovely gift or even a stocking filler if you're finishing your Christmas shopping over the next few days! I know I won't be staying away from the reusable bubble bars now that I've given Pink Flamingo a try, but I do love my standard bubble bars a bit too much to make this a repurchase.
Are you a fan of Lush reusable bubble bars? Have you tried Pink Flamingo before? Let me know - and a little tip for those of you who love the normal bubble bar range like me; I like to cut mine up into 2 or 3 big chunks to get a good few baths out of them, wrapping the pieces in cling film to keep the scent fresh in-between uses!
