The Autumn Scent Library

A picture of Thierry Mugler Angel Passion Eau de Parfum

There's been a little bit of an autumnal theme on Tattooed Tealady recently, firstly sharing how to make autumnal hues work for you before delving into my favourite autumnal lip products and even going so far as to give you a little window into life outside of the beauty reviews, with a feature on how I like to spend cosy autumn evenings. Today I wanted to talk scents with you, with my autumn scent library, featuring a beautiful array of fragrances perfect for this time of year; those in-between beauties that are great for transitioning from summer to autumn, and those deeper, muskier scents that are perfect for the colder weather.

Let's get the limited edition scent out of the way first, shall we? The latest scent innovation from Thierry Mugler, Angel Passion Eau de Parfum* is the perfect autumnal take on this classic cult scent. Keeping the same beautiful oriental scent of the original Angel scent, Passion adds a warm and glamorous touch with notes of Caramel, Honey and Praline. It's such a lovely scent for autumn because it has a very subtle warmer feel to it and I also really adore the bottle for this limited edition version; much more stand out than the other limited edition takes of Angel I've tried this year. £65 will get you 50ml of fragrance, so maybe one to pop on your Christmas list!

A scent which has taken top spot over the past month or so is the incredible Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum Intense, which I recently shared my thoughts on in a post all about the Giorgio Armani Si fragrance range. The most expensive of the three Si fragrances at £72 for 50ml or £95 for 100ml, it is out of this world stunning. More sultry and intense than the Si Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette, it has the same underlying scent of the Si fragrances, but with a deeply sweet scent of crushed Blackcurrants, Fir Balsam and Golden Benzoin. The perfect night time scent and one I can't get enough of!

A scent I always turn to in the autumn - and winter - months is my absolute favourite Liz Earle scent, and one of my favourite scents overall. I fell in love with Botanical Essence No.15 Eau de Parfum back in December 2012 (review here) and it's been a favourite ever since. It's a deep, warm and musky scent that has a spicy touch with top notes of Pink Pepper, Cinnamon and Bergamot, heart notes of Samask Rose, Cypriol and Indian Sandalwood, alongside base notes of Tonka Bean and Bourbon Vanilla. All Liz Earle fragrances are available in a 50ml size for £49.

I've been using this very sparingly so far this autumn, opting for spritzing it on clothing opposed to my actual skin, in accordance to the pregnancy warning Liz Earle have given this scent on their website - but for those of you who aren't growing a little human, this is an absolutely beautiful scent that I really recommend checking out.

I love White Musk fragrances and one of my favourite is the autumnal twist on a classic scent, The Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose Eau de Toilette, which is a budget-friendly alternative to the more high-end autumn scents out there. I picked this up in a duo scent a couple of years ago alongside the matching body mist and it's been a favourite autumn scent ever since. It has that White Musk scent you'd expect, but with a seductive floral undertone with notes of Black Smoky Rose and Tobacco Flower. Absolutely lovely! You can check out my full review here, it's definitely one I'd recommend checking out next time you're in-store, especially at such a reasonable price of £13 for 30ml.

Last but not least and one which took the beauty world by storm last Christmas, the delicious Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum, which I featured in last year's go-to winter scents; it's perfect for both autumn and winter and makes such a change from the more musky scents I often turn to in the colder months. Not only does it have the prettiest bottle you ever did see, but the scent is seriously addictive and one I find everyone loves regardless of personal tastes. There's top notes of Coffee and Pink Pepper teamed with heart notes of Orange Blossom, Jasmine and Vanilla, finished off with base nots of Patchouli and Cedar. If you haven't picked this one up already, now is the time to add this stunning scent to your fragrance library. Available in three sizes; £38.25 for 30ml, £54.40 for 50ml and £71.40 for 90ml.
