Sunday Post #49

It's been awhile since one of my Sunday posts was dedicated to a good old catch up, but after my first weekend in as long as I can remember being at home without any plans giving me the chance to get a lot of things ticked off on my to-do list, I think it's the perfect time for a good old chinwag, don't you?

I'm cool with being over-organised!
When I started telling people I was planning Christmas presents in September, people look bemused. When I had all our Christmas presents ordered before the end of October, people told me 'It's too soon!', Well, this weekend all those Christmas presents and all of our Christmas cards are wrapped and written, with pretty Christmas labels all ready to go under the tree, which is being put up on December 1st, in case you're wondering!

I absolutely adore Christmas, even more so since we've been in our home the past couple of years and I've been able to decorate and put a tree up, something we never did at my dad's. I love making our home feel all cosy and festive, spending each evening feeling excited for Christmas and each morning waking up to a home that's brimming with excitement for the festivities ahead. This year I'm even more excited, because once Christmas is over our baby will almost be due, with just two weeks after Christmas for us to wait until 2 become 3.

I'm looking forward to being able to spend December and Christmas stress free, having everything already organised and ready. It'll be my last few weeks as 'me' before I become 'mum', and I'm looking forward to putting my feet up watching Christmas movies and eating festive treats! Are you prepping for Christmas yet?

Is this nesting?
I have always been a hoarder and I have always struggled to throw things out, but recently? I can't stop throwing things away! No matter how much I go through drawers and cupboards throwing out things we don't need, it still seems like we have way, way too much. Every time I throw something out, everything else multiples. I'd love to hear your top tips for keeping things minimal and decluttering, as with just 7 weeks to go until baby Gizmo is here, I feel like I'm going to drive myself insane if I don't get rid of everything that is completely unnecessary in our home!

My life is about to get very hectic...
As I said this is the first weekend in as long as I can remember where I've stayed home and we haven't had any plans. No friends visiting us, no days out planned, no family commitments. Just a lazy weekend at home wrapping Christmas presents, cooking tasty meals, cakes and muffins and overloading on Buffy. It's been a much needed weekend at home, because the next 7 weeks are about to get chaotic.

From here on in I don't have a single day to myself, whether it's a full day at work (which I'm carrying on with until 9 days before we're due, ah!), antenatal appointments, visits from family and friends for Christmas or days out with friends before I get too big to move, between now and our due date my diary is so full I almost need a second one just to fit everything in!

Of course, that is a good thing for the blog. I have a lot of lovely content planned over the next couple of months and more than a few of my plans between now and my due date are days out which will make their way onto the blog to share with you all. I love sharing more lifestyle themed posts with you all and once I am on maternity leave and home with baby, I think this will be a more regular feature - if you'd like to see more lifestyle content here on Tattooed Tealady, let me know!

Whatever you've done with your weekend I hope it's been lovely. I'd love to hear what you've been up to recently, whether you have any festive plans between now and Christmas and how you plan on spending the last few weeks of 2015. This year has flown by, and it's crazy to think how close 2016 is...

  1. You certainly make pregnancy look good! I'm impressed with your Christmas organization too. Although, with baby on the way, I think I'd have done it too. For me anyway, the last month of pregnancy was really uncomfortable and I felt like a beached whale. lol :)

    1. Ah thank you lovely lady! I'm like this every Christmas but this year I was determined to stick to our usual plans and have Christmas and home organisation all done before Christmas, so that my last few weeks of being pregnant were as stress-free and relaxing as possible! xo

  2. Lovely to see you are so prepared! I had a Xmas baby so had to do all my organising 'just in case'(due Boxing Day, born 30th amidst a snowstorm!) I still buy all my presents late summer now some 20 years later!! Word of warning - take it easy on the Xmas lunch or you may end up with awful indigestion! Have a lovely Christmas and I look forward to seeing some exciting news in the next few weeks, it's been really nice to see your journey so far x

    1. Thanks lovely! I'm not sure I'd cope if I wasn't prepared, what with Christmas being right before we're due. I can't imagine how it'd feel to be rushing around getting Christmas ready AND trying to sort everything out for a newborn. I'd rather be over-prepared and organised haha :) xo
