Si by Giorgio Armani

Si by Giorgio Armani

Perfumes are something I find impossible to resist. Although I have some scents which I will always turn to, scents I'll repurchase for years to come, I'm not one of those girls who can get by with just a few select scents or who has a 'signature' scent. For me, I chose my perfume each day depending on my mood, the season, my plans for that day.

Giorgio Armani
is not a brand you'll spot in my beauty stash. A brand I have lusted after, for sure, but a brand well out of my price range and so one I have always steered away from. It was a complete surprise to me to learn that Giorgio Armani had a fragrance range that was actually fairly reasonably priced for a treat buy; not the cheapest I have in my collection but not the most expensive, either. The fragrance range is of course Si, a range first developed in 2013 as a completely new innovation to the Giorgio Armani name starting with one single fragrance which has expanded over the years since, including more Si fragrances each with their own scent story.

The idea behind Si is very simple; empowering women to say 'yes'. For those of you who didn't know, Si is the Italian word for yes. Si came to be after being inspired by his mother; a woman who embodied confidence and elegance, grace, strength and independent spirit. What started with one Si fragrance has now expanded to include three takes on this empowering scent; Si Eau de Parfum, Si Eau de Parfum Intense and Si Eau de Toilette.

The original Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Toilette
The first and original fragrance in the Si range, Si Eau de Toilette is presented in a very pretty, feminine bottle with a pink and gold theme. It has a lightness to it, both in it's look and the scent itself. A scent sure to captivate women of all ages, it teams notes of Pear, Blackcurrant, Mandarin and Bergamot with a subtly woody and sweet Vanilla base. Available in three sizes; £42 for 30ml, £54 for 50ml and £76 for 100ml, this would make the perfect gift and instantly evokes a calming and content feeling when I wear it. The perfect day time scent, it's soft and playful, perfect for any time of year and exactly the kind of scent that would make the most perfect signature scent, if I was that kind of girl.

A deeper, bolder scent with Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum Intense

The second scent to enter the Si range was Si Eau de Parfum Intense, with a beautifully confident and sexy bottle teaming black with gold, it's the darker sister to the Eau de Toilette. My personal favourite from the range, it's the perfect evening scent that has an instantaneous effect on my mood; a couple of spritzes leave me feeling more confident, sensual, fearless. With more depth and intensity than the Eau de Toilette, a new dimension is added with crushed Blackcurrants, Fir Balsam and Golden Benzoin. Available in two sizes; £72 for 50ml and £95 for 100ml, this seductive scent is a step up from it's more affordable sister.

The newest Giorgio Armani fragrance, Si Eau de Parfum
The perfect mix between Si Eau de Parfum Intense and the original fragrance, Si Eau de Toilette, Si Eau de Parfum is the newest scent to join the Si range, perfectly presented by it's bottle which captures the essence of both previous scents; the same chic, feminine yet bold bottle with a light peach colour and gold rimmed black top. Available in three sizes; £47 for 30ml, £67 for 50ml and £92 for 100ml, it's a beautiful new addition to a range which effortlessly stands out from other fragrance ranges. Teaming notes of Cassis Nectar, jammy fruit, Vanilla, fresh-cut Freesia and Rose de Mai with a melting base of Patchouli, Amber Wood and Orcanox, it captures the softness and femininity of the Eau de Toilette with the boldness and confidence of the Eau de Parfum Intense. Stunning for both day and evening wear, it's perfect for those who want a touch more something-something than the softeness of the Eau de Toilette, yet less intimidating than the Eau de Parfum Intense.

Being introduced to the Si family has been a beautiful experience, I don't know how I went so long without a Giorgio Armani fragrance in my collection. They're all equally as beautiful as each other, I absolutely adore the elegant and chic bottles and I love the idea of a range which makes the perfect family of scents under one simple yet empowering name.

  1. I love the original Si, I found this gem when it was first realised and been wearing it every since. Do you also find you get so many compliments when wearing it? GreyWalls

    1. Yes! I've found that with all three Si fragrances, but the original Si fragrance definitely seems to get more compliments. I think because it's such a sweetly feminine scent xo

  2. I love the two Parfum's, I wasn't too blown away by the other. Though the Intense one if my all out favourite. I pick and choose a perfume each day too, depends where I'm going. The Intense one reminds me of Lady Gaga's perfume a few years ago too x

    1. I have never tried the Lady Gaga scent - not particularly a fan of Lady Gaga myself so it's never intrigued me, but I may have to give it a try in-store now to see how it compares xo
